Super Bright with adjustable power
I bought this for my Rockhounding. I bought a bunch of gems that weren't real and used this light to help identify the way in which they deceived the customer. Highly recommend this product for this type of use.

Perfect
This item is compact, sturdy and perfect for examining transparent or semi-transparent gems Crystal's rocks. I use it to see the visuall treasures within my crystal collection. It's also handy to have on hand when in a store buying. It lets you see the beauty, but also helps to see if a crystal in glued together 🙂. Some facets look that way, but glue stands out. A perfect pocket companion for inspection and enjoyment of your hobby or trade.

Light has potentially dangerous malfunction causing physical harm.
I was so excited to receive this gem light. When it arrived without batteries, I had to go to a few different stores to find the lithium batteries. This light doesn't take the usual AA, A... When I finally found a package of the 123 size (@Walmart), I couldn't get them to go into the light cavity the usual way. I had to Google if there were different-sized lithiums of the same size number. As I was about to contact Amazon for a refund, I inadvertently found a comment about this exact gem light in an online gemology forum. The responder described how you must place the batteries in from the top under the light rather than the typical style where you unscrew the bottom, and slide the batteries in from the bottom.Okay, unusual-sized battery problem solved, but then I started to use the light checking out the rocks I had been waiting to grade, and I couldn't keep the light on for more than 5 minutes or the shaft would get dangerously hot to the touch. So, now I am contacting Amazon about a return, and without the original packaging. I am so disappointed that I allowed this purchase to take up so much of my time and energy, only to discover that it isn't nearly the quality I had expected.

Bright light!
Great gem tourch though thus I s ny first one. The only negative is the strange size battery...couldn't you just make it completely rechargeable or least compatible with AA?

Best light out there for the price
First off don't give it a bad review because it won't hold your standard off the shelf batteries. I used to vape to quit smoking and had a few 18650's and a charger on hand. This light is extremely bright, half way up and you'll be seeing spots it's so dang bright. If you need a battery and charger just go to a vape store and they will get you set up. Easy to use, just pop a battery in and turn the dial. Well worth every penny.

$20 battery not included
$20 battery not included seems to be a good light but way too expensive to not have a battery with it
