I like Disney Ride related movies. Pirates is one of my favorites. I like the Haunted Mansion ride and hoped for good things here as well. I had been to Walt Disney World many times and I was disappointed the mansion in the movie did not resemble the outside of the ride there (this is when I first saw the movie on DVD). I have since been to Disneyland and can appreciate the look of the outside now since that is what this movie resembles. Both rides are the same on the inside and there are many shoutouts to the ride if you pay attention.Enough about tying it to the rides :)The movie was well done. It had humor (what Eddie Murphy movie doesn't), a pretty decent story about realtors (bringing along their children) being called to a spooky southern mansion in the hopes of selling it, not realizing the real reason they were invited. There are ghosts here and some horror scariness that would not be great for young viewers. I would stay with a PG-13 rating.The blu ray does an excellent video transfer. Beautiful image. It played fine on my player.If you like Eddie Murphy movies, Disney ride related movies, or just a not too scary ghost movie, this meets all of those requirements.

Rented this to gain some childhood nostalgia, best choice ever!

Most of the reviews under THE HAUNTED MANSION is for the movie starring Eddie Murphy. My review is for the Theme Parkology Presents THE HAUNTED MANSION. This DVD does a good job of sharing the ride through the attraction and some good background on the development of the attraction. Over the years, I've bought several DVDs about the various Disneyland attractions, most from EXTINCT ATTRACTIONS of several years ago. At that time, their version of THE HAUNTED MANSION attraction was out-of-print and I never found a copy. This Theme Parkology version fits in well with those other EXTINCT ATTRACTIONS DVDs as far as completeness and attention to detail. For those interested in Disney's attraction THE HAUNTED MANSION, I feel this would be a very worthwhile purchase.

Got this for the kids i babyait in the apartment. Not too scary, good introduction movie to horror films.
