Outstanding DAC/Amp with driver problems.
Sounds as sweet as I expected. The only problem is the driver. It will work without a driver but you are limited to 48hz. The driver and some software comes on a thumb drive, which was nice.I first tried to install the driver without looking at the instructions. After installing it would not work. To make it work I had to disable the driverThen went to the instructions. First they wanted you to made turn off a protection, which requires a reboot. After installing the driver.it was exactly the same problem. The store tried to help but could not understand why the driver would not work. I saw a deal on a Gustard USB-X and gave that a try. The USB-X used the same driver but would work. Now I'm enjoying Tidal at 96hz and some high end music I have up to 2.2mhz.I only knocked off a star for the problem because I'm not sure if it was my computers, (I tried on more than one.) or something Microsoft caused. The boards claim that Microsoft made a change in the last update that broke some audio drivers. My Fostex is not working on a new portable I just got so there may be something to that.I did not knock off a star but it was a bit of a bother. The remote control did not come with a battery. I thought this was an oversight but saw someone else complain about it. The remote will not use the on off. However it is better using the remote to access the menu. Volume works but not given that this is a headphone device I don't see the need unless you are using a long cord. Then it would have some great value.

The RCA output would stop working sporadically and finally it died completely, while the XLR was still operational. The seller was very responsive and replaced the defective unit after the factory took too long to repair it. The replacement seems to be a new revision. One can tell from the volume knob, which clicks and does not skip anymore. So far it's been holding up well. My only concern is heat. It's purely passive with no fan and get's very hot after a while.
