I had such good germination that I had to thin the plants twice.I took a chance and replanted the thinned ones, they all also grew.Pick in the morning and plunge into ice water. We wrap them in moist paper towels and leave them in fridge for 1 day before eating.

I use these seeds to grow produce for Soup Pantries In Newark and I was delighted by the quality of the vegetables.Lettuce was outstanding!Short growing time and not prone to insect predation.Will use them again next year

Now that I've had time to work with these seeds, I am summarily unimpressed. The germination rate is at about 5% and frankly, that stinks. I have been a successful gardener for nearly 60 years and have primarily grown from seed - I'm good at it, though, it is really the viability of the seeds being grown that determines one's success. These aren't worth the paper they're packaged in and must be so old that they are useless for all but the compost pile. I have tried four separate times to germinate these seeds right beside other buttercrunch lettuce seeds from obviously more reputable seed companies, each and every time these seeds put out a couple of straggly, weak shoots out of 50 planted and the other seeds nearly all germinate and grow to strong, viable lettuce heads. Take a hard pass on this company and these seeds.

I received my lettuce seeds in the mail sooner than I expected. In several days later, I have sprouts most of the seeds. I’m so excited to see my own lettuce!
