Speak Up: An Illustrated Guide to Public Speaking

I needed this book for a class and it was the best decision I could have made to buy it from here. Not only is this book incredibly cheap (which I appreciate as a college student), but it also was in great condition. The sellers did not give me a used or bent up book, which I appreciate.Content wise, everything in this book helped me pass my class with an A. It gives great advice on how to overcome your fear of public speaking, or to make your public speaking great. Overall, great book. Would recommend if you want to see yourself improve.

This was a required text book for an intro to speech class that I took. It is the ONLY textbook I've ever read from cover to cover. I even went back and read the chapters that weren't required. I rented it for the class, but I kind of wish I'd bought it. The combination of imagery really cuts down on getting lost in the words that happens in many text books. Also, the writing is on such an approachable level.

The only way I could tell this was used was by the front cover which is a little beat up. Other than that this copy was pristine! There were no markings inside and the paper back makes it really easy to carry around. My school was selling this edition for $60 so I am very happy with my decision to purchase from this seller!

The book is great. Initially it was to be used for my college speaking class only but now I plan to use it for whenever I want to set up a good presentation. Topics covered are on setting up good speaking notes, learning to tame the stage/class, how to relax when under pressure and tips on keeping your audience's attention. It was ordered used, at a cheap price and is in great condition! Definitely worth buying, even if your not in a college level class.

My teacher used this book for the class. It was okay book. It is easy to read with illustrations. Yet I could find a lot of information in the book online.

The book is so straight forward and the illustrations supplement the reading content of the book. If you are one that is nervous about public speaking, this is the book for you. It will help minimize your fears and help you properly prepare your speech.

This book is really fun to read. The illustrated examples and concise chapters help me pay attention and absorb the information, which is saying a lot as I have ADHD. Definitely keeping this textbook after I finish my public speaking class.
