refined, expeller pressed. Refined means that it will be nearly flavorless, neutral taste
I'm pleased. This expeller pressed, refined, virgin pecan oil. What does that mean? It means that it will have much of the nutrients intact BUT have a neutral flavor. Like the difference between unrefined coconut oil and refined coconut oil. One tastes like coconut, one has a neutral flavor void of coconut. SO to expect this to taste like pecans is going to disappoint you (and not fair to the product). Look for brands (or maybe options within this company) that are not refined. Why would you want refined? if you want the healthy oil but not have it impart that particular taste which would otherwise impact flavor of a dish. If you want the flavor, again look for unrefined, and look for words such as toasted, etc.High smoke point means that more can be done with the oil (including frying) in a safer healthier manner. When oils reach their smoke point, their nutrition degrades and oxidation greatly increases (what we dont want).I dont want to cook or bake with canola or vegetable oil. I dont always want to use olive oil. Other options are out there, but I decided to give this pecan oil a try. Works for me, and I went ahead and ordered another bottle. Big beautiful bottle packed carefully in snug Styrofoam. I have used it to lightly sauté various foods. I will likely bake with it; reaching for it when a recipe calls for vegetable oil.

Best all-round oil I've found!
If you're looking for an oil that is "one and done" this is the oil for you! I've been scouring the "oil" market for years and never fully satisfied with any of the dozen oils tried. I recently ordered Kinloch Pecan Oil for one single need, to hydrate some pecans I had over toasted and to my surprise discovered the oil that going forward will be the one single oil I'll use for ALL food needs. This oil is amazingly "clean and pure", has a light flavor and it's versatility is endless. Wide spectrum - frying, homemade mayonnaise, baking, sauces, salad dressings, etc... this oil will do it all. This is the first review I've ever posted on Amazon - Kinloch Pecan Oil is that great of a find. Thank you Kinloch for having such high standards in regards to what you present to us as consumers!

I really like the multi uses for this oil. I use it for grilling steaks, and as a salad dressing. Great product!

Healthy, tastes great, replaced my olive oil!
I bought my first bottle of pecan oil at a local market days event a few years ago. I keep it in the fridge, even tho there is nothing that says you have to. It took me several years to go through that first bottle, but in the fridge, it never turned or smelled “old” like olive oil has. In the past year I’ve gone thru 2 bottles, cooking, frying eggs, mixing up salad dressings, baking, etc. It has a higher burning point than olive oil, and is very healthy. I love the flavor and won’t be without this oil in my house. When one bottle gets to the half way point, I order another bottle to make sure I never run out. 😁❤️

One of the healthiest oils and very versatile
Although not as common as other oils like grapeseed and olive, pecan oil is one of the heart-healthiest types you can use, plus has a high flash point so can be used in cooking at higher temperatures without breaking down. This Kinloch oil has very little flavor - perhaps just a hint of nuttiness - so won't change the flavor of the dishes you use it in. I like the 1000 ml bottle because I use it in both my baking and oven frying so too quickly go through the small bottles available from most other sources. It's also less expensive to buy it in a larger bottle like this.
