Excellent front tire
Seller and shipping was all A+. Tried as a rear tire with a 2.6 3c front but I like the dual compound aggressor as a rear tire better. I think the dual compound aggressor 2.3 rolls much faster and has a better balance of traction and cornering. These dissectors roll fast also but I think it's a bit too much grip in the 3c version out back. This tire is best up front with either an aggressor or rekon out back. A friend of mine runs this tire out back and has complained about fast wear. The side knobs are not quite as supported as a minion so they get chewed up fast if you are an aggressive rider. I see this as an a excellent front tire for more aggressive trail riding paired with an aggressor out back. It's probably my favorite front tire but I prefer the 2.6 size. The 2.6 casing has significantly more volume than this 2.4 version.

Great Rear Tire
I’ve had this tire on the back, paired with a Minion DHR up front, since 2020. More people should be using it. Just had it in Park City, Moab, Crested Butte (including the DH MTB park), and it performed like a champ in the diverse conditions. Wear has been as expected.Do note that it, like other Maxxis tires, comes in various configurations—that is, not just the width but the tire compound and protection (exo, Maxterra, etc). These will affect the weight, grip, puncture, cost, etc. See the Maxxis website to try to figure out which one you want. The combo of those things above—that is, this exact product— is the one I have.Note: for those who have posted the ease of mounting the tire, I think that’s more of a function of their rim, which can vary slightly in size. Good tubeless tires tend to be pretty hard to mount.

Great Gravel Tire
I ride bikes hard. Good dirt trails. Good gravel. Lots of miles. I moved to theses off another brand and immediately felt it. Good file tread. Good shape to the tire - much better cornering. Bike almost immediately become more agile. -- running tubeless these have been relatively easy to mount and hold up well. The couple I have been testing with - I wore out before they had punctures or damage that required replacement. Good tires. One of the best upgrades you make to your bike is better wheels and better tires.

Great rear tire
This is a good rear tire with decent rolling resistance. Good for loose over hard pack terrain as well as thicker loam. I pair this with a minion dhf on a Canyon Spectral and I couldn’t be happier.

Great rear tire, but fun on the front also!
Awesome rear tire for trail/enduro use, but you already knew that. More breaking traction than the Aggressor and it feels like it rolls and accelerates a little better too. I also liked running the Dissector yup front on my enduro rig to practice cornering. Whereas the DHF and Assegai have all that grip you want up front, they can sometimes make you lazy on cornering due to how much grip they have (especially the Assegai). Running the Dissector up front forces you to hone your cornering skills. It's not an XC tire at all---the side knobs are still plenty chunky---but it's much lighter than DHF. It rolls similar to a Bontrager XR4, but with significantly more braking traction and cornering bite.

Helped me climb up and down the mountain
This was recommended by maxxis as a front mounted tire. It gives alot of control when leaning into a burm, climbing, and desents. I use them on all types of terrain and it has generally worked well. These roll nice when inflated to your bikes recommendations. Would like a little more grip on smooth rock or chucky stone. Overall a great option if you are using them up or down the mountain.

Functional
I’ve been running this tire on my new Yeti. Works well in our region.

Will buy again
I use this as a front tire on a hardtail. For flowy, windy blue trails this has plenty of grip. I noticed faster acceleration and better grip from the Specialized butcher I replaced it with. In the rear I have a Rekon. I lean the bike hard in flat corners and tire maintains traction very well.Better grip than Aggressor, not quite as fast.Faster than DHR, not quite as grippy. I don’t think I would use this as a front tire for my full-suspension, as I ride much more challenging trails. However, if I were to do an all-day epic (25+ miles and 3500’+ elevation gain), I would put Dissector up front and Aggressor or Rekon in rear.
