I love the way this book tosses out the gatekeeping and makes magic practical, simple, and affordable. Melissa’s style and use of common items makes magic accessible to a wide variety of practitioners. I have piles of books...this will be the one I recommend to newbies AND keep to use as a quick reference.

Such a great book! I highly recommend this or her Tarot book. Very easy to read and the explanations just make sense.

Hi Everyone,I bought Kitchen Table Magic after listening to Kitchen Table Tarot, because I enjoyed the first experience so much, and I wasn't disappointed. So this review is of the audible version of the book, but I feel my comments would equally apply to the print, or kindle version. Once again, Melissa has written and excellent, easily understandable, and eminently accessible book on how to learn Kitchen Magic and there is a good bit of Tarot in there too. I'm retired and now I rescue cats. I bought the Audible version because I drive around the DC beltway doing important cat rescue duties, and I am an avid Tarot enthusiast, so I felt I would try to extend my knowledge beyond Tarot and explore Kitchen Table Magic while my hands are busy driving. It was a great decision. In Kitchen Table Magic, Melissa Cynova is down to earth, funny, swears appropriately on occasion, and is easy to listen to. It's pretty straightforward approach, and some of the magic activities she describes we all do, one or two of them at least, just as part of our life from our upbringing. I found myself thinking, 'Oh, so that's where that comes from!' Melissa gives lots of personal funny anecdotes from her life with Magic too. She makes it simple to understand and you will get a laugh from her stories! So If you can't actually sit down in your kitchen and see how this book applies to everything you already have the shelf or in the garden, but you are doing an activity where you can listen to something that is light but on topic, then I suggest this may help get you thinking about Magic in your life. Then when your hands get a free moment in your kitchen you're already warmed up. Think of it as part of the exposure process, part of the immersion of learning about Magic and divination. The funny thing is some of what Melissa says in the book has stuck with me or reminded me of things I did, like when I moved into a new house, the cleaning can be part of the clearing! I look at the world a little differently now I have a bit more situational awareness how I move around and interact with life. I definitely think about doorways in a different light! So do yourself a favor and buy Melissa's book on Magic, you won't regret it. If you aren't quite sure, you can get the sample and have a listen to or read the intro etc. I'm sure you will enjoy those 15 or so pages a lot, and help you decide to buy. There's a lot to be said about being entertained while learning about Magic! Thanks Melissa, another great book!Jason ;)

I have this on google books and just started chapter three and now I have to own a hard copy. She has a way of opening yours eyes but not telling you what is and what isn't, there is not a wrong way. Worth the money and worth reading more then once.

The conversational, generous sharing of obviously great wisdom makes this unlike most magical books I grew up with. If this is your tradition, gift this author's books to your kids or beginners. Love this writer. She's funny and keeps me engaged and inspired.

This us such a helpful and amusing starter's witch book. I'm glad to have my copy.
