I don’t use it as an edge control. I use it to lay my hair down for my buns. It’s works perfectly for my 4B hair. It only leaves a “residue” if you don’t let it dry all the way or at least 80% while your head scarf is on.

You don't need a lot because it is quite thick, a bit expensive for the size.

Had good holding power however left white residue and flakes off after a few hours when dry. Not to mention the next day it’s a flaky mess.

This gel is not harsh at all. I've been using it for almost a year and it has not damaged my edges at all. My hair is fine and curly and I like how gentle it is.

Does not work as expected to lay baby hairs down.
