Guild Repertoire -- Piano Music Appropriate for the Auditions of the National Guild of Piano Teachers: Elementary A & B (Summy-Birchard Edition)

I use these Guild Repertoire books, Levels Elementary A, B, C and D and Intermediate A and B, for preparation for the National Guild of Piano Teachers' Auditions. The music is unique, especially that in the elementary levels, exceptionally well written, printed clearly and is often written by composers who are lesser known. The books are appropriately graded, and they are recommended by the Guild.

This book consists of music appropriate for the performance of the Intermediate A level material, especially in preparing for the National Guild of Piano Teachers' Auditions held in the spring of each year. If you are not familiar with an intermediate piano level, this is an excellent guide. If your student is working toward a Founder's Medal, this book, together with the Elementary Book Level C and D, provide excellent and often unique materials.

I bought this book as a supplement to our Piano Adventures level 3B lesson plan. I decided my child was good lingering at this level for awhile. We got the P.A. supplements as well but decided why not try something different.What I like most about these pieces is that they are by composers you don't often hear. Every has heard the same easy Mozart, Bach & Schubert pieces for kids, but this includes a lot I had never heard before.The level of playing ability is on trach with Piano Adventures book 3B so if you are on that level these will be playable.A good addition to our collection of performance music.
