Opposites attract goodness
It’s cynic versus romantic in this light-hearted opposites attract romance. Whenever I start reading a book by Jennifer Probst, I know I’m going to get solid writing, complex characters, chemistry, a semi-serious tone, and a relationship that’s a little messy. And this one is no different - I wholeheartedly enjoyed the tension between these two as they try to work past their differences, and there were plenty of fun moments that paired well with the shots of angst. There were times when I found our hero to be a little overbearing and frustrating (though that’s all part of the story), and it was kinda somber sometimes, but I enjoyed it the whole way through.Essentially, the story follows Avery and Carter, two people who are thrown together while helping to plan a wedding. Carter’s sister is getting married and Avery was her college roommate, so they’ve met before but don’t know each other well. When Carter met Avery, he got the impression that she’s a wild troublemaker, and as a steady, predictable kind of guy, it immediately made him wary. Now that they’re spending time together and digging deeper, they clash and break down each other’s walls until that tension turns to love.Probst is a great writer, so I have no complaints about that. The story - though predictable at times - is interesting and has plenty of depth. Avery and Carter’s road to happily ever after is messy and emotional at times, but there’s also a lot of lightness. It’s a slow burn with a few steamy moments, and I loved the buildup of intimacy. I didn’t love the rushed feel of the ending or just how serious our hero is at times, but it didn’t detract from my enjoyment. Overall, it’s a sweet and sexy romantic read that’s well worth your time.

Disappointing
I did not finish this book. It was too ridiculous. I've never thrown a book across the room before but I sure was tempted with this one. The characters were unlikable. For an accomplished business owner, the female lead acted like an out of control child. And the brother of the bride? He was the most irritating character I've encountered in a long time. Even the dog is insufferable!***SpoilerThe final straw was when one of the characters left her child with a stranger (who was a client of the firm she worked for). It's wrong on so mamy levels, I don't know where to start.

Inappropriate and not what I expected
Not clean romance like I was hoping. Didn't finish the book.

Great book to distract from current times.
This book was just what I needed to distract me from the corona virus pandemic and make forced stay at home bearable!

Flirty Enemies-to-Lovers Romance
Even though she is a well-known romance author, and I love romance, I hadn't read Jennifer Probst before. I was pleasantly surprised. I absolutely adored the heroine, and I particularly loved the first scene. She is a wedding planner, and we’re brought into the midst of a wedding going awry, where somebody actually objects to the wedding continuing! The author's strength seems to be characterization, as she creates nuanced characters who seem believable. The hero was a bit more difficult than I like my romantic men to be at times, but I particularly enjoyed seeing his evolving relationship with his sister, who is the bride of the wedding that is the focus of the book. There has to be something to their relationship if she wants him to be her man of honor! And he has to be a good-hearted guy at the core if he gets involved with the planning. I love it when romances have small side plots about adult sibling relationships, and I thought this one was well done.As the couple moved from enemies to lovers, the author did provide enough of a buildup to make it believable and help us appreciate when things did get steamy. I hate it when books rush the buildup of a relationship and just get to the intimacy. That didn't happen here. The book did have some mild profanity, of which I am not a fan. I actually don't like any swearing, even the less harsh words, in a novel. I appreciate when authors tell us in the book description that it's going to have some profanity, which this one didn't. But as I enjoyed the characters and their path to an HEA, I will forgive the mild bad words in this case. If you are looking for a light and breezy read to while away a few hours, this book may be what you're looking for.I received a free copy of this book but that did not affect my review.

Enemies to lovers/older brother of best friend
This is a great enemies to lovers/older brother of best friend story. Avery is a wedding planner and her best friend asks her to plan her wedding. Ally's brother, Carter, helped raise her after their parents died so sometimes he's more of a parent than brother. When Avery and Ally were in college, Avery was a little wild and sometimes roped Ally into things they shouldn't be doing. Once Carter had to bail them out of jail. Now all he can think of is that irresponsible Avery is going to try to plan his sister's wedding and not do a good job. Avery and Carter butt heads over everything to do with the wedding. Sometimes, he knows more about what Ally would want than Avery, the wedding planner. When Ally is called away to take care of her future mother-in-law, the wedding details are up to Avery and Carter. I liked how Carter starts to see that Avery is very competent in her job and she's not the same as when he knew her before. Will they both be able to overcome their past feelings for a new relationship before it's too late? I really liked this first book in a new series by Jennifer Probst. I can't wait for the next books to be released.

Intense and Slow Burn Read
Carter’s sister is getting married so obviously he returns back to where she is so he can be there for her big day. He knows Avery is around & I did think that it was a bit predictable but these two really do work well for each other despite being opposites. He is a frustrating character, and Avery’s initial feelings about him might be true but these two make sense so I’m glad they were paired together.Avery. Damn girl, he’s trying. She frustrated me more than Carter did. I related to him but at the same time, I rolled my eyes so much. There was not a lot of steamy moments in the beginning but when it did, I was smiling so much.I love Carter and Avery! The way they get thrown together by having to plan a wedding is equal parts hilarious as well as awkward. There is a clear tension between them and that tension rises as they work through their issues, and their past.I have to say I wasn’t sure how to rate this book, the story itself is good, and it’s a clear opposites attract but I didn’t feel so connected to it from the first chapter. It took me a few before I got into it but once I got into it I was gone. This book is a slow burn but it works and I definitely think you all need to pick it up!

Love on Beach Avenue (Thé Sunshine Sisters) by Jennifer Probst.
A book not to miss as the subject of this story is very dear to every womens hearts. Yes it's weddings and the " Sunshine Sisters who run à very successful wedding planner service. Avery, Bell a, and Taylor who have been asked squeeze in a short time or 4 montages time. Avery's best pal, Aly's wedding in Cape May and which Avery did n't want to let her down agreed against her sisters protest. Bringing her elder brother, who usurped his opinion into every aspect of the dressing landing, making Avery furious, but really was making solid suggestions which made Avery even more furious. But somehow she had an acute reaction to his touch. Suffice to say the wedding was a success. But Avery and Carter's relationship went sour due to Carter's past families issues with his father and he couldn't commit to à more permanent rélationship with her and they broke up when went back to his home in D.C. But one video chat with his newly married sister put him straight to let go of the past and how she felt responsible for him not to fufill his own destiny, and heads back to Cape May and the love of his Live. Enjoyed every moment of it.

Feel Good Romance
Love on Beach Avenue is a super sweet romance between best friend and older brother, but it is also a profound reflection of how we can lose ourselves to our responsibilites. Both Avery and Carter have lost the fun and spontaneity in their lives and use work as a crutch to keep them from analysing the causes of the rut they have found themselves in. Although Carter has additional reasons for avoiding emotional entanglements beyond his sister and his sassy dog.I adored how romantic Avery was and the way she refused to sell herself short on the relationship front; determined to have the fairytale and unapologetic in her determination to get it. I also really, really wanted her purple house – the way it was described made it my ideal home 😍Avery and Carter are thrown together to plan Carter’s sisters wedding even though they have a lot of animosity between them stemming from Avery’s wild phase during college which she attended with Carter’s sister. As Avery and Carter battle to in the title of who knows the bride best – the banter and bets between them fuel the chemistry that takes them both by surprise. However, Carter’s emotional fortress is a barrier to moving their relationship beyond summer fling. Will they be able to overcome it to get the happily ever after they both deserve??Jennifer Probst ingenious paves the way for the other two Sunshine sisters story within the narrative of Love on Beach Avenue.Love on Beach Avenue is a feel-good romance to help fuel the belief in happily ever afters 😍

Irritating
I adore enemies to lovers romances and I enjoyed this , but it didn’t blow me away. I usually love the fact Carter and Avery have always hated/annoyed each other, which you know means they’ve always been attracted and are too stubborn to admit it, that’s the fun with these books watching their chemistry unfurl into passion, however I found nothing appealing about Carters character, he was a bully , patronising and not really charismatic the way I’d expect if you’re going to have a dominant male. The thing that annoyed me also is Avery never calls carter out on his behaviour when he is being an ass and he is an ass a lot. Also what kind of best friend doesn’t expect you to be part of her wedding but arrange it. But it has dogs, romance, some cute characters. An easy distraction but bugged me too muchThanks to netgalley and the publisher for a free copy for an honest opinion

Another brilliant start to a series
Another brilliant start to a series from Jennifer. Avery and Carter were not a pair I would have thought would click together but they worked so well loved their banter and bets lol. With Avery’s busy schedule and Carter constantly undermining her ability to help pick his sisters dress, cake and flowers etc I was expecting an explosion between these two and I did get that and more.loved hearing about the rest of these characters and can’t wait to read more from this series

Good read
This in love with your best friend's brother is different from a lot of other books I've read, where the love between the two people cause a rift between the friends. Avery and Carter both have reasons why they found it difficult to open up but the strong attraction between them couldn't be ignored. The relationship developed slowly but interesting and the ending is beautiful.

Another hit
Jennifer has done it again. A gorgeous story set in an idyllic beach town that I need to visit. Some lovely bits of humour along the way.Avery and Carter are like oil and water. He has a knack of knowing how to get her riled up. Organising her best friends wedding should be a piece of cake but with Carter being the bride's brother somehow this is not going to be plain sailing.Another bit from this wonderful author. Book two pre-ordered.
