In terms of a body of creative writing, this collection is extraordinary. Allen is beyond prolific and resourceful. His sense of humor, at least in days gone by, can sometimes be sophomoric and when that happens, it is easily passed over. But other times it is downright brilliant. I laughed out loud often. At bottom, you can’t deny his uncommon talent. If you are an Allen fan, this work is essential.

I liked some of Woody's movies, loved some of them and plain didn't care for others.But his essays are on the whole Very Funny. Some of his humor is off the wall, based on ridiculous premises.(The Whore of Mensa for example:About a guy that has a great sex life with his wife but gets no intellectual stimulation. So he go's to the the Whore of Mensa for that. Mensa is the organization for geniuses.) But this just opens the way for some of his funniest stories.

Printing is OK with a few spelling errors. Book well bound for a paperback, If you like Allen, which I do despite his character flaws, content is often hilarious and very literate.

I reccommend this book to any Allen fan. It is by far the best collection of his short stories. My boyfriend is a huge fan, and this book is the bees knees!His family is Jewish and celebrates Chanukah and my family celebrates Christmas, so I needed two gifts this year. This was a phenomenal price for a phenomenal book. Perfect gift.

I would recommend this to anyone who likes to laugh till their sides hurt. I read Without Feathers when he first wrote it and my old copy is tattered from reading it so much. I read him when I need to cheer myself up!

Ich lese das Buch mit Stift in der Hand. Manchmal streiche ich ganze Passagen an. Er hat einen so eigenen Humor! Auf solche Ideen muss man erst mal kommen. Vergleiche und Wortspiele, die er wie ei Jongleur im Zirkus durch die Zeilen wirbelt. Super. Treffende Kritk, aber ohne zu beißen. Ein Vorblld.
