I have purchased NIKON products exclusively since 1972 but I am very disappointed in the spotting scope. To get a sharp view and focus you must be at the lowest powers. When you zoom in your field of view decreases and your resolution drops off extremely quickly.Even with adjustment of the eyecup, when you are fully zoomed in you need to be so close to the eye piece to see well that you are touching it and making the scope wiggle all over. Save your money and get a less powerful scope if you want a NIKON because I would guess you will seldom be satisfied and use the higher power settings on this scope.

This is a very nice spotting scope for the price. The instructions are a little spares, but the scope is straight forward. I was not expecting the clarity from this scope at the full range of magnification. Now this not a high cost scope so do not compare it to the 2000.00 scopes. It is light, it is water proof, it does not fog, it has a good range of focus over the full range of the magnification. And it can be focused at about 20 feet so you can use it at the lowest power and focus on an outside bird feeder so that you use the scope for more than just monitoring long range shots and long range critters.better than any other scope I looked at for the price that I got it at and better or just as good as the scopes in the range that it lists at.

Not only was it not angled like the photograph, the lens didn’t fit.

My Nikon Prostaff 5 Spotting Scope is magnificent. It's crystal clear and easy to focus. Has a wide viewing circle. It is a straight scope despite the incorrect picture. This was a really good choice!

Fantastic glass for the price. Lightweight. My only complaint would be this unit only has a coarse Focus would like to have a fine focus. It comes with a great neoprene skin to keep the heat off the scope when using in the Sun.

I bought this for my husband for wildlife viewing. Friends had purchased this model a couple of years ago when we were in Yellowstone and we all loved it. One of the better models in its price range for viewing wildlife from afar (with a steady tripod). In fact, we liked it better than the professional models the guides use at the Yellowstone Institute.

The clarity is pure Nikon, great! The magnification however, is not quite as strong as I expected it to be for a 20-60x scope? Build quality is also great.

Beautiful sharp images. Well worth the price.
