Main things to remember:1. Make sure all locking tabs of tool are fully seated on ring.2. Keep tool locked away from any fuel lines. If tool would happen to slip out under load it could hit and damage fuel lines coming out of sending unit causing more issues.3. I sprayed WD40 on ring before trying to remove and install. Seemed to help even when locking them back onto sending unit. I used this to remove lock rings on 07 Santa Fe. Put on 1/2" drive breaker bar and they were really on tight. I have used hammer and screwdriver method on other applications but this was too tight for that.

This was the second tool I bought after buying a “universal” tool with adjustment points that snapped with minimal force. This tool however did the trick on a 2006 Chevy Colorado. The fuel pump ring was STUCK. We tried chiseling it out with a hammer, every spray known to man, and some different tools. None of which worked except this one. We didn’t think we could get the ring off but this tool is so well made it got it off! So happy with the results. If you’re fuel pump ring is stuck and it’s this size, get this tool.

Simple to use, and when you have the right tool, made the job so much easier, great tool, highly recommend.

I have a 2010 Camaro SS that needed the fuel pump replaced. I did not want to pull all the necessary parts from underneath the vehicle in order to remove the tank so I made me an access door underneath the backseat 7“ x 7” I tried to get the locking ring to go back into place With a brass punch but was unsuccessful. This tool fits straight over the locking ring. I put a 24 inch half-inch drive cheater bar into it and put it back in the locking position. I have needed this tool once before so I’m glad I bought it.

Had to replace a fuel pump on a 2015 Challenger and the quote from the dealership was way too high. Purchased this and decided to do it myself.

I replaced the fuel pump on my 2018 Kia Stinger and absolutely could not have done it without this tool. That lock ring is on way tighter than any other one I have removed. Saved $800 by doing the job myself, which was not that hard, so the cost of the tool was nothing.

This tool was absolutely a life saver in order to remove my second fuel tank lock ring on a 2008 Taurus-X passenger side. The fuel tank lock ring was the original FoMoCo part. It was heavily rusted after 15 winters in the Northern rust belt (also called Canada)! After a couple of failed attempts to unfasten it with a 3/4 breaker bar and adapters, i reverted to my old CP7748 impact. Maybe 5 seconds of air impact on short bursts did the trick. As expected, the old fuel pump module assembly plastic became brittle on top. Those numerous tinny cracks made a perfect passage for fuel fumes. Whenever the car fuel tank would be fulled, a fuel smell would be present until the fuel level would go down to 3/4 tank.The tool itself was strong enough to withstand the torque generated by an adult pushing hard on a 3/4 breaker bar and also the air impact. There is no signs of metal fatigue or distortion on the tool itself. This allowed me to do the repair without lowering the fuel tank, from above. I highly recommend.
