Handles damp (snowball/snowman) snow much better than expected.
No data on longevity and bought an extra battery right away. Had in storage at 2 bars out of 3 charge. Charged both to pretty full prior to use.Using it now to clear extra drainage paths taking swipes through drifts starting at the top. Can't handle snowplowed snow at all. Not expecting it to handle 'old' snow. Nice design overall for clearing channels.Tested initially on a driveway and sidewalk with 3-4 inches of packy (snowman) snow and had to push, pull back, push (easy to do and didn't have to lift snow at edges). Was able to clear driveway and sidewalk with a bit of snow left on both in about an hour. Threw about 10-14 feet (with the help of the wind). If you don't want to lift the snow at the edges, the tradeoff is patience with less width and limited capacity. (Standard shovel clears best to pavement - snowblower clears best for volume and better to pavement - was still snowing and blowing when finished a first pass.)If you can use it working with the wind, the sidewalks are easy. Throws snow forward so helps if the wind picks it up and puts it in the snowbanks - otherwise you need to use it sort of sideways. Two batteries did about one hours work and could have done just a bit more (thinking maybe 15-20 minutes more).Read that batteries (after use) should be stored at 2 full bars out of 3 (if 3 is full) (versus topped off) and recharged about every 6 months if in storage to get the longest use out of them.Don't expect it to work on slush. Don't expect it to work on any packed snow or ice chunks and avoid areas with sticks. It doesn't clear fully to pavement which isn't a big deal when clearing drainage channels in grassy areas where a person might finish clearing the area with a standard shovel anyway.Biggest values so far ... moving some (fresh) snow weight to different quite distant areas so it didn't have to be lifted while limiting the development of extra snowbanks around the drainage channels. And, clearing/moving some snow in areas where a snowblower can't easily be used.

One of the best tools I have ever bought
I bought this guy in November to have it ready for the first Michigan snow. It was very easy to assemble. I charged the battery and waited. When the small snow finally came, I put in the battery and NOTHING. The battery had gone dead. I contacted Snow Joe and they replaced the bad battery in just a few days. I repeated the process and waited for a good snow test. Fortunately, yesterday we got 10 inches of snow. I wanted to see how it would do with a major storm and it was OUTSTANDING! Instead of shoveling and lifting, I just push the Snow Joe along. Given the deep snow, it sometimes gagged but with a very short stop and blade clearing, it immediately continued the job. I have used it 4 times in last 2 days and am so impressed with it. I also really appreciate no gas smell or noise (as do my neighbors). I can't recommend this little fellow any more highly. It's pretty amazing.

Works good in a limited capacity
Does a pretty good job of throwing snow. I bought a larger battery so I could work longer, but wasn't really necessary. If there is a lot of snow, you have to hold it up and take a couple passes, then it gets heavy after a bit. Works great on the deck and paved walkway. But I have a dirt driveway and wouldn't recommend it for that. It works okay until you hit a rock and that will chew up the plastic auger, so not worth the risk. Careful if it's windy because it throws straight out and may blow right back on you. 4 stars because I think it would be better with some small retractable wheels to help with clearance. I was trying to think of a way to attach a shoulder strap to help make higher passes, but haven't figured it out yet. The pole also feels weak at the connection point. Was thinking about securing it with some better hardware to strengthen the joint.

Awesome little machine!
Saw this highly promoted on TV at Christmas time and held off buying for a bit. Then found myself in a situation where I needed to take care of things myself and wasn't in a position to put lots of money into a snowblower or plow or plow service, so decided to take a gamble on this. I don't regret it for one second. I not only do my deck but my entire driveway, and a maze of paths in my front yard for my short legged dogs. Definite lifesaver for me.Only con I have so far....battery doesn't last too terribly long..well not with the work I'm asking of it. Having a 2nd and maybe 3rd battery would make it better. But on the other hand, this is still tiring work, so the charging break may not be a bad idea for me or the snowjoe.

It Really Works!
I'm in my fifties and even though I have a snowblower, I still have alot of shoveling to do: both decks, stairs and walkway. Because shoveling was started to be too hard, I bought this snow joe and I was amazed. I love that it is easy to use and it throws the snow very far. And cordless is just the best especially in winter. What I don't like is that you have to be cafefull not to get too close to objects because it can damage the scraper. Also being 5foot4, the handle is a little long so doing steps is not as easy. But overall, it does the job and it is truly less Painful than shoveling.

Quality machine.
There is nothing to dislike about this product. As a 77-year-old man, it helps me to keep my deck and sidewalk clear. No more heavy lifting. I recommend the battery-powered model with a 19" swath.

Great product
It came right on time, Amazon never fails to deliver. The product came in a secured box complete with instructions. The warranty is 2 years. The baterry can be used for 25minutes and it also came with a fast charger. There is an available spare baterry online for around $80 if you need more than 25 minutes or work time.

Great snow thrower!
Major snowstorm and had over 40 cm of snow today! The Snow Joe was put to the test and it did not disappoint! Made my life a lot easier. Took me half the time (even less) to clean up our dog run. Definitely recommend this product.Save your back and time!

Performance a Big Issue.
In optimal conditions, battery life is 25 minutes, not the 1 hour 10 minutes advertised. Thinking I had a defective battery I contacted Customer Service and received this response: "In order to enhance the performance of your battery you would have to purchase a 24VBAT-XR 5.0AH". The battery that comes with the product is 24VBAT 4.0 Ah. Count on spending another $100++ for the required battery making this an overly expensive product for what it can do.
