Delorme Michigan Atlas & Gazetteer (Delorme Michigan Atlas and Gazeteer)

This is a must for traveling around the UP of MI and to go rock hunting. So much information.

I bought this atlas to replace my 8-year-old Delorme that has seen better days. I also like that it’s updated with new info. This is a must-have when you’re driving out in the middle of nowhere and there’s no cell service for your GPS. Camping in the Upper Peninsula, this has been invaluable not only for keeping us from getting lost, but also for seeing something interesting on the map and saying, “what IS that?! Let’s check it out!”I’ve also used this to drive between Lansing and Detroit when the traffic was inexplicably backed up on the highway and I needed to find a way around. GPS didn’t seem to register the backup and kept telling me to get back on the highway. Pulled over, checked my atlas, and I was on my way home, traffic free!This literally never leaves my car! Incidentally, it fits perfectly in the space between the passenger seat and the middle console, always within reach.

The printed format is great.I have one in each of my vehicles.

My husband has had this on his Amazon wish list for a while. I decided to get him this for his birthday. I had to give it to him early because he planned to purchase one!

A bit big for carrying in your vehicle but very nicely done and I'll just make room for it in my van

I have had many atlas’ in the past. I am an old fashioned map person when planning travels in an area. This atlas had less information than many of those I had in the past. While it provided basic info, it didn’t have some of the extras I have found in the past. Next time I will purchase in person not online.

I like doing a little armchair traveling by looking at lovely detailed maps, and this fits the bill for my beloved Michigan. Google's fun too, but there's nothing like a big, clear, well-printed map for enjoyment and for considering the possibilities. Highly reccomend all DeLorme products. Glad they are able to keep publishing.
