Very informative book on the region and its food!
Simply enjoyable book! It goes beyond recipes of the dishes of the region, but contains many memories and historical notes about the geographical location, which provides good insight on the qualities of the dishes. Gorgeous photos too! (It's like a mouthwatering travelogue)

Work of art
This book is truly a work of art and offers so much more than a compilation of recipes. The author challenges the notion that a particular dish or food is Greek, Turkish, Armenian etc. Instead, they take a holistic approach and categorize the food as “Anatolian” which is truly more accurate. They cited historical texts that they used in making the book which offers a fascinating perspective to think outside of the box in terms of the evolution of food. It really fosters a greater appreciation for the love of food and culture. I’m obsessed!

Not "Anatolian"...
I am a rarity & have actual ancient Asia Minor Anatolian DNA > 20.7 %, besides Vatican City DNA etc etc on my paternal paternal side. Violent Invading Ottomans massacred my ancestors there.Turkey became Turkey in 1912?, so when the chef with the Australian last name born in Turkey claims the recipes are from ancestors from "Anatolia" from 5000 years ago...Its truly knowingly misleading. The chef doesn't even have 1% of Anatolian blood. Also very sad what they did to Hagia Sofia. It was never theirs. It was Never a mosque. Anatolia was a Gorgeous Greco Roman ruled & Hittite civilization & the Kurds can be traced back to Anatolia 1000's of years ago too.So I take offense to those in "Turkey" claiming any part of my heritage that they drenched in Anatolian blood...besides Greek & Armenian blood & Kurdish blood too.

Go for it!
It is a very useful book! You can learn Turkish history besides cooking! The ingredients are based in the US, so you don't need to worry about anything at all!The pages and colors are very high quality!

Makes me want to try all the recipes
I was lucky enough to be given this book as a gift. It’s got everything. An interesting text about the author and background to some of the dishes. The recipes are written clearly, with a lot of emphasis in care. It doesn’t claim to be a book of quick and easy dishes. The photographs are gorgeous. All in all a lovely book to browse and I shall certainly be trying some of the recipes.

Great visual, great stories but very abstract recipes.
Great visual, great stories but very abstract recipes. The book has beautiful visuals. Also explains the history behind the Turkish cusine. On the other hand the recipes in the book is really abstract. I mean if you are Turkish and ate that dishes several times, you mind find the explanation enough. But if you know nothing about Turkish food at all don't start with that book.

Buy this book!
I am very impressed with this book! A huge selection of turkish cooking recipes that are practical and very well presented with beautiful and intriguing photos that draw you in and make you want to try them all out straight away - but there are just so many to choose from! There is a high quality finish throughout the book, and the background to the recipes provided, particularly the anecdotes on the various regional cooking styles in Turkey, is fascinating and adds a further vividness and perspective that makes the recipes come alive.

Full of mistakes..
There are a lot of language mistakes in the book that make you could not understand some of the topics. Pictures are not enough and even some recipes have no pictures! The most important problem is there are a lot of mistakes in the book.. As a Turkish cuisine expert, I do not reccoment this book..
