Madam Secretary: The Complete Series

The merchandise is fine quality. The DVDs are all perfect, and the bonus features are great. The packaging is terribly cumbersome and awkward. It's really big, heavy, thick plastic. Discs are stacked on top of each other on spindles that are so tight that the discs bend badly when you're trying to pull them out. Discs 1-3 of a season are stacked on top of each other on a taller spindle, then discs 4-6 of that season are stacked on top of each other on a shorter spindle, and discs 1-3 overlap discs 4-6. If you want to get to disc 5 of the season, you have to remove discs 1-3 in the first stack, then disc 4 just to get to disc 5. Very awkward and frustrating. It's not bad material, just a terrible design. There is no booklet, just the liner of the huge plastic case that has a list of all of the episodes and special features. In spite of the lousy packaging, it's a fantastic series and the DVDs are good quality.

This is a wonderful series and we are enjoying watching it again, but I wonder how well the DVDs will last because of the terrible packaging--it's as though the people who designed the packaging never watch DVDs themselves. The DVDs are stacked on top of each other--3 of a season on one plastic spindle and the other 2 of the same season on a shorter plastic spindle partially underneath the other 3. You have to take out and juggle the DVDs to get to the one you are watching or arrange them so the next one will be the most accessible. And the season and disc numbers are the same gray color (only slightly shinier) as the discs themselves, making them difficult to read in dim light (and don't we all watch TV in dim light?). This is great show, but our investment in the DVD may not stand up to repeated watching, because of the poor, inconvenient packaging that does not protect the DVDs. Bad design decision, CBS Home VIdeo! Nevertheless, the show is great and on first watching all the discs work fine.

Arrived in good condition and ahead of predicted delivery time.Just a note to seller that the entire 3rd and 4th Seasons were of a different region to the rest of the DVDs, and would not play on our DVD player. This is not intended as negative feedback as Panasonic paid for our DVD player to have the regions unlocked. The media could not be loaded.  I hope the disks will work. The design of the container that is holding these DVD’s is INCREDIBLY hard to use/get access to DVDs. I hurt my fingers pulling it up/out to access the disks. When I finally got it to open the disk that was on the bottom got scratched just from trying to open. Incredibly frustrated with this. I will have to buy a DvD case just to house these DVDs so no one gets hurt or destroys the disks.We are sure to LOVE the content on the disks as we’ve rewatched this series several times. This review has NOTHING to do with the content of the show. The show is AMAZING and HIGHLY recommended.

I was really disappointed when this show went off the air.Then when I saw on amazon it was coming out with the complete series in a few months I signed up immediatelyII recommend this series...all 6 seasons-to anyone who loved the show also.

I love this series!!! The acting is superb. The cast is top flight. The interaction between Tia Leoni and Tim Daly's characters is playful, flirty and one of the many gems in this series. And they are apparently like that in real life. They did the commentary overlay of one of the episodes and they were just as playful and flirty with each other. Another aspect I have tremendous respect in any dramatic TV show/movie is the technical consulting. If you liked the series West Wing, you will love Madam Secretary. The humor is not as much out there as West Wing. It's more subtle, but still there. Like the series West Wing, this series gets it on two levels. The first is getting a look into the day to day interaction on the 7th floor. It communicates authenticity. Plus the characters daily personal life (long) cameos by former Secretaries of State, Madeline Albright, Colin Powell and Hilary Clinton. The second is incorporating facts on life, politics and anything else into the series, IE: the conflict between China and Japan over ownership of the Senkaku islands because of valuable mineral deposits, the dangers of extremism, the use of Prussian Blue (paint pigment) to cure radiation poisoning, Politics between India and Pakistan, Russia and Ukraine (Considering current events, got it mostly correct) and the US and China or Russia. I saw the entire series when it was on TV. Now that I have the series on DVD, I am reveling in binge watching. Like other reviews, my only complaint is the packaging. And it leaves a lot to be desired.

I like political White House video's and this is the best since the West Wing. What got me to order the series sight unseen was Tea Leoni she hasn't done alot but what she has done I liked her in and after viewing the first season I have not been disappointed. It has a great ensemble cast to back her up. Tim Daily is an excellent fit as her husband, they go well together. And I enjoy Bebe Neuwirth's contibution. After viewing the first season I was worried that they might not be able to keep it up but so far 4 episodes into the second season they have. Also since it lasted 6 seasons encourages me that the stories will continue to be as interesting and exciting as the first season was.

I was thrilled to find the complete series of Madam Secretary available at a reasonable price, and I received my order for it overnight. The service was awesome, and there were no problems with the DVDs. My husband and I have already watched them, and we enjoyed the series immensely.

FOXでシーズン２まで日本語字幕バージョンで放映されていたのを妻と二人で見ていました。しかしシーズン３を放映する予定が、今のところ無いみたいなのでアマゾンでこの商品を見つけて購入しました。字幕付きと書いてあったので、てっきり日本語だと早合点し買ったのですが英語字幕でした(泣)商品の画質＆音声は問題なく普通に見れています。希望として日本語字幕バージョンも販売してほしいです。

リージョンフリーのプレーヤーも購入して楽しみにしていましたが、日本語字幕がないとなかなか理解できないこともわかりました。英語の勉強にはなりますが。スターチャネルでシーズン3以降の日本語字幕が放映されるのを待つばかりです。

リージョンフリープレーヤーで問題なく観ることができました。特典映像もあり満足です。

3rdシーズンのDisk3が入ってなかった。
