Very useful product (from an actual purchaser)
I was hesitant to purchase this product based on some very negative reviews, but I went ahead anyway and glad I did. The nickel finish is fine, it heats adequately, and dries damp towels and workout clothes. This is very useful, especially in a cool/wet climate, and you don't have to wash your towels as often. It won't make your towels toasty warm, but you'd need an expensive built in warming drawer if you want that. The only issue to be aware of is that these units don't last forever (I got a couple years out of my first one), and the elements are not replaceable, so you have to replace the entire unit. To extend the life of the product, I'm going to try a Belkin Conserve Socket F7C009q Energy-Saving Outlet ($11), which will turn offer the unit after 3 or 6 hours. So be aware of that, but at less than $150, I find the product to be a decent value. Not sure what the negative reviewers (if they are real) are talking about.

Practical and luxurious
We purchased two smaller Warmrails towel warmers from Amazon for our master bath in the spring of 2007 and liked them so much we decided to add this large Warmrails towel warmer for our guest bath. All of them are superb. One of the best features is that, in the humid summer weather here in Vermont, the towels get quite dry within several hours. In the winter, of course, the towels are toasty warm. If someone wants really hot towels, this towel warmer is probably not the best choice -- towels get warm but not hot-hot. We fold our towels so they are 4 layers thick, and put them over the towel warmer (i.e., 4 layers over the front and 4 layers in the back), and 3 of the layers are quite warm.We purchased the towel warmer with a plug-in option. The cord is fairly long, and our electrician was able to thread the cord through a hole right behind the towel warmer, and plug it into an outlet in a closet behind the bathroom. This made the cord practically invisible in the bathroom. Finally, the towel warmer metal rails are quite warm, but I can put my hand on them for a few seconds without feeling like I will get burned. I would highly recommend the Warmrails product.

Just the right temperature, easy to install.
I read some of the negative reviews and was a bit skeptical. I have had the older version of this heating rail for over 13 years. We use it 24/7 and the old heating rail lasted 13 years before the heating elements failed. Not too bad. This new one was supposed to be more flimsy according to some reviews. I can't say that. The heating rail is just as thick in material as the previous one. The rivets at the side are different than before and the cross pieces are probably screwed and not welded as the previous one. The wall anchors used to be cast metal. Now they are plastic. However, I don't see that the plastic ones will break under normal use. As long as your grown kids don't hang from the rail the system should be functional. The nicest thing was that I could just unhook the old one and three out of four wall anchors fit exactly for the new rail - 13 years later they used almost the same dimensions. Easy to install and it is great to have warm towels again.

mildly warms, brilliantly refreshes
Had this 3 years now, always on, never any problems. towels are warm, not like a blanket warmer, but noticeably warm. The greatest advantage is how these dry the towels quickly after use, extending the towel usage at least 2 or 3 days (i.e. we used to switch out towels 2-3 days and now go 3-6 days). Safe around kids, though it does get quite warm, you'd have to hold it for awhile to get burned, if you even could. Top quality finish hasn't tarnished...still looks new.

Cheap Piece of Trash.
DO NOT BUY. This is a cheap piece of trash, nothing like the quality of the same brand I bought 6 years ago (and had to leave in my condo when I sold). It is not metal but plastic painted "chrome" which was flaking before I even got it on the wall. The bars are dinged and crooked. And worse still, even after being on for 8 hours it does not warm the towels; tepid is the best I can describe it. I will keep a little longer to see if the towels will actually warm as I have now put 8 holes in my bathroom wall, but fear this has to go back. You get what you pay for. I was so happy with the previous model I had but this is useless.

Only warms, does not get as hot as expected.
We had a rack towel warmer in the past and liked how hot it got. When it died, I got one of the barrel type towel warmer which I like even better but my husband doesn't, since it doesn't dry his towel. So I got him this Warmrails rack warmer for Christmas. While it does get warm and dries his towel, it does not get nearly as hot as our previous towel warming rack did. The one we had previously got so hot it actually helped heat the bathroom! I like that this one hangs on the wall and doesn't take up floor space but I am disappointed that it does not get warmer. The bars under the towel feel warmer than those that aren't covered, but it is not very hot. I can hold the bar without any discomfort. I don't know if ours is defective or this is all the hotter this model is made to heat. It is a shame as the rack looks nice hanging on the wall.

Great product/great price
Bought a smaller one from a bath retailer; we've had it for three years and it works great! This one, for another bathroom, cost 60% of what I paid for the first one.

Nice to have warm rowels
Nice to have warm rowels. Like the fact that it uses very little power.Switch seems a little cheap, but we shall see how it lasts.

doesn't really warm towels.
This was a let down. I took down my old towel rack filled holes, sanded and painted the whole bathroom. put up the towel warmer. The bars do get hot but the towels do not get warm.
