Overall happy
Overall I am satisfied with this umbrella. My hot tub shell and cover are grey, so I went with the black umbrella. Black also does a better job of blocking out light and hides mold stains well. The true test will be if it fades.SetupSetup was not exactly easy peasy. There are no words, just pictures. It's not overly difficult. I would recommend having a partner because some of the pieces can be difficult to handle. Mainly putting the umbrella into the base stand. Imagine trying to hold a pole straight with a heavy weight at the top that wants to keep tilting forward. I did it by myself, so it can be done. It's just less frustrating with help. It's also easier to move with two people. When I moved it, it kept wanting to tip forward or to the side. I bought this before our new tub was delivered. When they delivered it, the guys just slipped it under the tub. It's very stable under the hot tub. The Hot tub sales guy who was there for the setup asked if we had bought that umbrella through his store. I told him no because I didn't want to spend $600 on a spa umbrella. He said it looked exactly like the ones they sold and it cost $399 on sale. It wasn't on sale at the time we bought the hot tub, so I went to Amazon and I paid $349. He was impressed with it.OperatingIf you've never operated a cantilever umbrella, I would recommend looking at some videos on how to open one and how to fold it up for storage. They are not all equal, so try to find one that looks similar. The manufacture of this one does not provide videos. It cranks nicely without issue. I have no problems moving it or folding it up. I have a 7x7 foot tub and this covers it well. The first night we were in the tub, it started to rain. If we didn't have the umbrella, we would have had to go in after 10 minutes. Considering we waited four months to get the hot tub, I would have been very disappointed. This umbrella kept us dry, and listening to the raindrops on it was soothing. It wasn't very loud like a tent might be.QualityThe base and poles seem to be of decent quality. The cover of the umbrella though has so poor stitching. Threads are hanging all over the place. It's like when they sewed the cover, they didn't bother to trim the excess thread the machine left behind. It looks like it will hold though, but time will tell.DurabilityWe live in a normally windy area, but these past few days haven't seen the usual amount of wind, so I cannot speak to how well it holds up in wind. It does swivel some, even if you have the knob turned as far as you can to hold the pole in place. It's not easy to do it, but it can be done. We had a quick thunderstorm roll through that brought a gust of wind and it moved about 15 degrees. The umbrella was closed. If it were open, it might have done some damage.Overall I am happy. Aside from the excess thread and the movement, there is one other flaw worth noting. First, one of the levers gets in the way of opening the cover, if you leave the umbrella positioned over the hot tub. You have to move the umbrella to the side, so the cover doesn't hit that lever when you close it. Not a big deal, but worth noting. You could try not sliding the umbrella all the way under the tub, and instead, leave a gap. However, might hinder the stability of the umbrella if it's not all the way under the tub. If you're in a windy area, I would recommend you deal with having to swing the umbrella to the side, rather then risk it tipping over. Please excuse the mess in my photos. The deck is still under renovation. I hope they help. I forgot to photograph the base before it went under, but it's just a flat metal piece that slides under the tub.

Great sturdy umbrella so far!
This is a very large, sturdy product that seems wellmade and it covers our 4/5 person hot tub okay. It assembled easily and is quite easy to crank open and shut I do have two cautions though:1 If you have your hot tub in a corner of your deck like ours is with walls of the house on two sides , you will have to drill three or four holes in the steel foot to bolt it from under your deck.since you will not be able to get the umbrella close enough to the tub to push the foot under the tub because the umbrella top comes over the edge and collides with the walls of your house.when fully open.2If it is windy I would advise cranking it closed. We bought a bungee cord that works fine for securing it closed. We bought ours for rain since in Oregon it rains pretty steadily and this will let us use it in the winter time.as well as for sun in the summer. It swivels around nicely to different angles and seems to cover at least one seat fine . ( I will update this review later when it really starts raining as to how useful it is for rain.)It is a beautiful umbrella that is a handsome addition to our deck. Cannot say yet how long the material will last but it seems like a sturdy canvas. My only quibble with it is that the company could have easily put holes in the heavy thick steel foot for those who need to install it by bolting. to their deck. ( We had to get a special drill bit and it took a while to do)

Perfect!!
This product was a successful purchase!! Shipped early, easy to put together, and is the perfect addition to our hot tub. The material keeps the heat of the sun off the tub and the rain off our heads if we use the tub while it’s raining. I am a total wimp and I can maneuver the umbrella myself easily. My main concern was finding a spa umbrella that didn’t take up space on the patio and this does the trick! The umbrella is sturdy when open and also when closed. We tie a bungee cord around the umbrella material when we are expecting a storm and there are no issues with the umbrella blowing around. To our surprise, it was super easy installing under the hot tub. We emptied the tub 3/4 of the way and used a long pry bar to lift the tub literally 1/4 inch to fit it under the tub. The tub is NOT heavy when you do it that way! I highly recommend this spa umbrella!!

Poorly made..
This is the 3rd umbrella I bought from this company in 3 years.. Same one each year.. The quality is ok when it is new but the top of the umbrella that swings has worn out all three time and breaks in a few months.. Very poor design.. When it snaps the unbrella is useless..I bought it 3 times hoping it was just my fault but this season I was extremely careful with it and it broke again.I think the umbrella is too heavy for the holder at the top and the metal breaks all the time..The umbrella falls and you cant roll back upToo expensive to just throw away after the summer.I tried to find away to contact them but the site does not have info to complainEd Martin

Great value. Happy customer.
Great purchase. I am writing this as I just wrapped it up after using it in the snow! It’s such a great purchase!Need to have it ready before spa delivery or before water refill. It goes under the spa and it’s very stable with little footprints required & works very well.I have had it for one month. Used the umbrella 4 times in the rain. It covers most of my 8x8 hot tub and I put my robe on the structure on top of the tub (not by design of the manufacturer). It’s very stable, great for the money.I tie it with Velcro when not in use, when it’s windy out, I tie the umbrella to the rod all together. It’s great value for the quality. The instruction is not easy to understand but it’s probably just me. I wish there is an instruction video.
