As a Social Media Wizard In Training
I’m extremely glad to have came across this kindlebook of 500 Social Media Marketing Tips: Essential Advice, Hints, and Strategy for Business; Facebook, Twitter, Pintrest, Google+, Youtube, Instagram, Linkedin, and More by Andrew Macarthy over two months ago via amazon. One reason; the author explains why breaking news, holidays, and special events can inspire content ideas and deciding which social networks will be best for you. Additionally, one of my goals is to be able to perfect writing and picking up various sources of communication and learning from different websites in both a mature and self-confident manner regardless of my occupation title. This has become important to me as I notice that there are many other commenters online who share my first name and post online as well as people who post under my birth middle name (which I understand happens to many other people as well). Posting online helps me both learn from others (as well as pick up knowledge from other web sites) yet also express my voice in a way to where the way I actually think and am becomes more apparent as I follow my heart to post what I say in both a mature and harm-free manner even when people who may share my name or birth middle name post on the same web sites that I do. The chapters on using twitter (which I admit that the author uses tips about twitter that I did not think about). Additionally, I’m glad that the author included googleplus especially because there are also tips in there that I need to learn and apply plus there is more in this kindlebook by Andrew Macarthy.

Good overview on How to use Social Media
The book 500 Social Media Marketing Tips talked about how us as future business owners and entrepreneurs can help prepare ourselves to be as successful as we can. It went through all the main social media sites like Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Youtube, Google+, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Blogging and Snapchat. All these channels offer a unique set of advantages in the online business world. Facebook is the most common and widespread internet business source you do almost anything on Facebook. You can start a business page rather than a user like what we use as just people and from their you can make criteria on who, what and how you want to reach your target market. Through pictures, links, videos and everything else Facebook has to offer you can grab the attention of all the users you can possibly reach. When selling a particular product or set of products you can choose what type of clientele you want to reach. Similarly, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest you can create specific business accounts to help create a much more professional approach to starting an online business. Although, each of these apps offer a little different service, Twitter has a bigger client interaction approach. The more users get involved the more ads they are gonna see for their interest. Instagram uses videos, live streams and stories to get customers involved and excited to be apart of your business. Pinterest also utilizes pictures and with Pinterest customers can save the advertisement and post where as instagram there really isn't a way to save a post. Another source LinkedIn and also Google plus you get the much more business aspect of Social Media Marketing you can see through starting “Groups” and gaining a following that you can either embrace the competition or fold. Google+ offers conferencing where you can bring in you customers for a more personal experience. The last two types I want to talk about are Snapchat and Youtube, Snapchat works mainly as support for other Social Media channels. It helps with keeping in touch with your customers but it also keeps them wondering since snaps are only around for 1-10 seconds. Youtube is the biggest search engine on the internet for bloggers and business owners people work hard at keeping people in the loop by posting live videos and streaming. My overall impression of the book was that it had a lot of information and it did a good job at explaining all the information. I worked in Social Media Marketing for awhile and I used Facebook to reach my target market so I know first hand what it’s like to create ads and such. A lot of the ideas like how to gain followers and gain a broader reach was just a refresher but I never even knew that LinkedIn and Google+ were such big hot spots for Social Media Marketing. Also it was nice how it went in depth about how to help with taking pictures and videos, i never really thought about how angle’s filters and things can really affect what your following wants to see.The first key point I want to touch on is from Twitter, I knew of the idea to “Pin” important Tweets but I never knew how important it was. In the book it talked about how pinning important Tweets can really help keep your target markets attention. Secondly, Youtube being the leader in Social Media Marketing must be taken advantage of. Learning how keeping your following updated by having daily live videos really made things clear to me why I see so many people posting live videos nowadays. Lastly, I want to touch on the importance of brand ambassadors. In the beginning on the book it talks about how having people help you by posting videos, pictures and even having a following of their own can really help you grow. Now onto analyzing, throughout reading this book I noticed a few things that I would have likes a little differently. The first thing I felt like I would have liked a little different is how the chapters were laid out. They were laid out with just headings and then a description. I would have like a more step by step approach, there didn’t seem to be much of an order at all it was just what came to mind first. Maybe by numbering each paragraph and heading underneath topics the book could have seemed a little more organized. The second thing was I felt that there wasn’t enough information for some of the categories. Like Google+ for instance, I am not familiar at all with it and I still feel as if I wouldn’t know what I’m doing if I were to start a Google+ account. It would have been nice if they went into more of a process on how these applications work. Also with Pinterest I am not very familiar with it and feel that if I wanted to start a company Google+ and Pinterest would be the two i would stay out of for sometime until I get a better understanding on how they work. The strengths of the book were clear, it gave a broad understanding of the benefits and ways these applications can help you be successful. But I would say the weakness is if you came into reading this book knowing nothing about social media marketing you would be so lost. They really needed to help people gain an understanding on how they even work. I would recommend this to others because it does give them a great overview of how to be successful. I wouldn't recommend this to my Grandma because she would be incredibly confused and lost.In conclusion, I feel this book helped me get a refresher from what I learned at my old job on how to reach lots of people and how to gain followers. But it also showed me a lot I didn’t know, like how Google+, LinkedIn and Youtube are very popular ways to be successful as well. Overall I would say it was a good read and it helped me gain a much better understanding on Social Media Marketing.

I know a lot about this topic. This guy knows more. Buy this book.
I am old. Been in eCommerce from the beginning. Very experienced in utilizing social media. I bought this book assuming I probably wouldn’t learn anything. I was wrong. I have a lot of work to do to leverage what he has shared. Buy this book. Very helpful.

If you can get past the text size and grammar issues...
Overall, the tips are pretty good. However, the text is painfully small (I bought the print copy) and the grammatical and punctuation errors are ridiculous and plentiful. The book is roughly 230 pages and lacks an index, but the print is 9- or 10-point serif type. If printed in more legible type and some sort of index to make tips easier to locate, the book would easily pass 300 pages, which is probably why it's so tiny, to save on print.

Great Guide For Anyone Looking To Grow Their Audience Or Customer Base
I have to disagree with the review that said this book was mainly for newbies. I've been working with blogs, websites and social media on a professional level for years and read any and every book on the subjects and still found this guide to be extremely helpful. I initially borrowed the book with my Prime membership to just take a skim through, but purchased it right after I finished reading it this week.I think this book will benefit anyone from new and seasoned site owners, niche bloggers, company managers and more. You can take the information laid out and tweak to fit your individual business and customize the tips and strategies to help your specific goals. It stresses to site/business owners how important social media is to help their business thrive and lays out specific ways to make that happen! It also gives them a realistic estimate of how much time it can take to successfully engage an audience through the dozens of social media platforms. The book gives detailed guidance through each platform. It doesn't go above a newbie's head, yet doesn't bore an experienced professional.I'd recommend this book to anyone as a valuable resource on the subject - no matter what their level of knowledge with social media marketing.
