You might need a drill
This item arrived in a box with very sketchy directions. Thankfully I have put together enough of these that all I need is a picture to figure it out. However, this time I also needed my drill as it came without all of the holes pre drilled. I had to drill 3 holes to put it together.

and it needs a better base since I can easily fall over
Can't really complain for the money. The material covering it is thin and cheap though, and it needs a better base since I can easily fall over. That said, my cat likes it, and I'd rather buy this and deal with the few shortcomings than drop $200 on something similar at a big pet store.

My Finnicky Cats LOVE this!
I LOVE this cat tree, and more importantly, my cats love this cat tree. It is very heavy, as I expected it to be given it's size; this thing is HUGE. It's specifically built to go in the corner and that helps stabilize it (not that it needs much stabilization). My 2, 14 lb, cats climb all over it and it barely moves. It was a little tough to put together as the pieces are not labelled and the picture is marked with measurements that are a little off, but being experienced with putting children's furniture together I was able to figure it out.The only reason I am giving a 4 star rather than a 5 star review is because the hardware that came with it had a hole in the bag which let all the hardware just kinda float around the box. I ended up having to purchase a few pieces of all thread (10m x 1.50 in case you need to know) from the hardware store to finish putting it together; but I'm not sure if the missing pieces were because of the hole in the bag or because my little ones (1 & 3 years) were trying to help me put it together by handing me the hardware......All in all, I'd purchase this cat tree again in a heartbeat!

Not for heavy cats or heavy kittens.
Great for very small kittens. My kitten has already outgrown this tree. She was never able to get on the top platform because it always tipped over. She enjoyed the toys attached until she pulled them off after a week. Now, it's going in the trash. Do not recommend.

A great starter tree
I do have some issues with this cat tree but they are ever so minor and some easily solved. I brought some of the issues to light with the seller and they gave me a credit which was appreciated. It was simple to build. It is covered in a fur that makes my cat want to snuggle. I did put cat nip on it initially just to get him on it. The sisal posts are perfect, he uses all of them. I was slightly concerned that he wouldn't be able to get the bottom ones but he proved me wrong. I figured even if he didn't use the bottom ones he could definitely use the top one and they are all the same size and can easily be switched out. It is light and easy to move around. If your cat seems tired of it try putting it on its side. This made it a fun jungle gym that my cat really enjoyed! This could easily be doubled with another and then add a bigger board across the top.It comes with a hammock that will be good for a really little kitten, I suppose. It doesn't need to be used and the hole in the middle is still fun :) My cat uses the hole as a means to attack the pompom that dangles on an elasticized string. It still is in tact amazingly.Cons: *The fur doesn't cover the underside of the MDF levels (shelves) *It's made of MDF :D *It was supposed to come with an additional toy that they didn't include. *The top level is always wobbly and the screw/bolt is obvious and hard beneath the thin fur cover on top. I tried to use wood putty to fill and screw it again to make it sturdy, but it needs a longer threaded rod. I will be purchasing that soon to make it more stable.

No padding under the very thin material (not carpeting). ...
No padding under the very thin material (not carpeting). 3rd shelf up needs to be be cut off diagonally to make it possible for the cats to climb up.

Carpet Coming Off
The cats love this tree. The base isn't quite flat, so it rocks slightly and the carpet began coming off in less than a day in some areas. The toy lasted about 2 minutes. Our cats do not use the hole, just the top levels.

Needs some weight to use it.
Really light weight, we had to put the corner under some boxes so the cat could use it without having it fall over on him. He does use it, but at times we need to readjust it so it doesn't tip over again.
