Rick Steves Snapshot Milan & the Italian Lakes District (Rick Steves Travel Guide) Paperback – February 4, 2020

Great information before the trip as well. Glad I had the book beforehand.

We saved $$ for the cost of the book by just the discounts codes offered for lodging and sightseeing. Also great information... a must if you're traveling to Italy.

When I got to Milan I found unfortunately a lot of the information had changed.

I took two guidebooks to Milan in Aug. For the first time, I took Rick Steves', and it was a huge disappointment. SO many locations, hours, and suggestions were out of date, I finally just threw it away. It was dated as 2021, so it should have been updated, as my other guide book was. The tourist office simply isn't where stated in the guidebook. Bus service to Lake Cuomo was not available as published, restaurants were closed or no longer good ones (especially around the canals). And then, the write-up about seeing "The Last Supper" was trite and unhelpful. Sure, it's been touched up/repainted, but seeing the scale of the work in it's original space was awesome - an essential visit if anywhere in northern Italy.In addition, the Rick Steves website was no more helpful. Such a disappointment! I found myself in Milan without the tools I needed to get the most out of this wonderful city! I've heard from other friends that they disagree with Rick Steves' travel perspective. I guess I'm one of those, but I also feel that there is something amiss at his company.

Although I love the information Rick Steves provides in his books, this one did not have the specific lake information I was looking for. Disappointed that it was not included elsewhere in his other books, also.

Rick knows his stuff! We get his books whenever we travel to new places in Europe and love his tips/tricks.

Good commentary and reliable information on where to stay, where to eat and what to see.

Rick Steves European guides are always my “go to” for travel in Europe.This one is no exception.Highly recommend
