Just wow
I initially did not like this scraper as I was not able to obtain an edge sharp enough for getting whispy shavings but only produced dust using a variety of sharpening techniques. I actually ordered and was using some blue colored scrapers for a while with decent results until I came back and revisited these with a slightly different approach. I will be using these exclusively now.Because the steel in these is so much harder than other scrapers, you really have to burnish hem with a lot of force. During bunishing, I moved my shoulders inward to transfer my upper body weight to really push down on the card and roll over the edge. I mean, I really applied some force. This gave me excellent results and an edge that also lasts. For those interested, my sharpening process consists of filing the old bur off the edges until they are flush, followed by filing the top completely flat, and then lightly flattening the sides again with the file. I then burnish perpendicular to the edge, then 5-10° off on each side with as much force as I possibly can. I didn't find it necessary to use a stone on these blades before burnishing but that's me.Edit: adding a picture of some massive planer like shavings I am getting from a walnut tabletop.

Game Changer
So, I had never heard of a card scrapper before but stumbled across the concept while researching how to remove chatter from a belt sander. I'm working on building myself a custom desk for my studio and wanted the exterior facing surfaces to be flawless. These are essentially 11ga. steel sheet rectangles that have a small "hook" on the intersecting planes of each edge. The concept is you push these away from you and get super fine shavings leaving your piece ultra smooth and glossy. View some online videos to see how it works.I was very sceptical of them but have it a try. And they work awesome! My stock is white. In about 45 minutes I reduced about 2/3 of the chatter before my thumbs cried for mercy. I will have to finish up next weekend. This is way better than sanding and having to wear eye protection, a mask and ear protection. I found it to be rather relaxing. Now, you do have to "sharpen" them often, but I was pretty successful using a crappy file I had. The seller even sent me a PDF via email with sharpening instructions. I never got mine super sharp, but it was good enough. I also got mostly super thick dust vs. very fine curls, but it didn't bother me. Got the job done!Totally recommend these for every woodworker.

Good for preping surfaces for glueing when repairing furniture,
Used them to scrape off old glue when repairing dining room chairs. Really cleaned off all the old glue and exposed clean wood surface without scoring the surface. Hope they remain sharp for a while.

My First Scrapers, And I'm Happy.
4 stars, not as a down-vote, but because I have nothing else to compare to.My first scrapers. I followed instructions I found online to prepare and sharpen them. I scrape, which gives me wood shavings, and my work piece is smoother. They work! I'm not sure how long I should expect them to maintain an edge, but I've been using them on hard and soft wood, and I'm still getting shavings. It's nice to have 2 scrapers. I suspect these will last me a very long time! They are small, so they seem good on smaller pieces. For larger work, I think I'll have to buy a bigger one.
