Serves its purpose to be a concealer fishing pole well
Serves its purpose to be a concealer fishing pole well. It is definitely not the greatest setup you will ever use but if your goal is to have a pole on hand in a small concealed place it works great. Concerned if you hook too big of a fish how well it will withstand a good fight but so far so good.

A little better than I expected
I’ve owned several inexpensive telescoping rods and this has been my favorite. It serves its purpose flawlessly. I purchased this combo specifically for backpacking in the North Georgia mountains to fish the rivers and streams for trout.Combo weighs 8.4 oz with protective tip cover. This is an ultralight rod rated for 2-6 lb line and 1/64-1/8 oz lures. This is a slow action, ultralight power rod (thin and bends easy). I find it easy to cast #1 & #2 spinners (1/32 & 1/16 oz) farther than my previous rods. Zebco does sell similar combos intended for larger fish and tackle, if that’s what y’all are looking for.The reel is decent for a $30 combo and comes with 4 lb mono line.Rods in this category tend to be delicate and break fairly easy if abused. For example, if your lure/hook gets caught in a tree, or on a rock/log, don’t jerk the rod wildly to try to free it. Eventually the rod will fail, personal experience. Definitely worth the $$.Update: I’ve taken this combo on a couple multi day trips and caught many Coosa Bass and Rainbow Trout. Great little combo.

Easy to pack!! Works great.
I wanted to ride my motorcycle to the river and lakes and fish but couldn’t find a pole that I could carry with me. This one works perfect. Fits perfectly in my dual sport bag and the pole works great. Extends out to a full sized pole and cast/reels smooth. Haven’t had any issues out of this pole and I have had two of them for over a year.

Love it!
We ride a side-by-side up very dusty trails. This easily fits in a tote or other container to keep the dust out of the reel. Be careful, though, not to push on the eyes that the line goes through when opening or closing. They will break off after a while.

Good.
This is a good rod/reel combo. I haven’t used a spin cast in almost 30 years. These days it’s mostly bait casters and spinning rods. It’s fun to fish with the Zebco once you get used to it. When this rod is in its travel configuration, it’s very short and fits nicely in my back pack. It’s comfortable to use and the grip is just long enough. The reel is a great value. The rod is pretty good, but the very last section has no backbone at all. I’ve caught small pan fish on this rod and it’s a heck of a fight. Great rod to have in the truck for those “emergency” fishing trips.

Lightweight but Very Fragile
Caught a couple dozen bass and about 100 brim in a couple weeks with this setup. Works well new. The rod tip section broke off after hitting a vine on a back swing. Comes with a tip protector, which which you should always use when transporting as it is VERY fragile at the tip being fiberglass. Wish the butt end section collapsed somehow too, it makes the rod just a little too long to fit comfortably in a standard size backpack.

Love it
I got 2 ! ! ! Keep right in storage box on boat . Don’t have to have long poles all over inside of boat . Keep one ready to go if line breaks. Just pull other one out fish without stopping to fix line .

Very easy to use
I have used for the first 2 days of fishing season here in Ireland on the local river . It was flawless . The only gripe i have is the 10lb line it came with . It had to be stretched for a few hours to get rid of the memory + twists . With that done it is now a perfect take anywhere setup that doesn't take up much space and casts well

floppy tip
The rigidity of the rod is inconsistent, which is not something I've observed with any other telescoping rods that I've owned. The last section or two of the rod are really flimsy, and the other sections are more firm. Aside from being strange to use, I imagine this would be a weakness of the rod design because it doesn't spread the tension out evenly across different segments of the rod.I didn't try the reel, so can't comment on that. I wouldn't recommend anyone buy the rod - try a different one instead.

I like it
I've used it 3 times and caught 6 small bass using a trout magnet. I really like the trigger spin reel though it's not nearly as smooth as my spinning reels. It didn't cast very well out of the box but once the line was tightened up it casts surprising well.
