Mr. 3000 (Full Screen Edition)

Saw this movie in high school and periodically watch it again over the years. Its an underrated movie that tugs are your heart strings more than you think it would. Bernie Mac does a great job of showing character development throughout the movie. RIP Mac.

Who decided to cast Bernie Mac as a baseball star? Mac probably took the part to show that he could do drama as well as comedy. Thankfully there are plenty of funny parts where Mac gets to use his mouth which was his greatest attribute. The serious parts worked as well. The dilemma of the movie came in two parts. First he came out of retirement to try to get 3000 hits could he do it at his age? The second was whether he could become a good teammate because before he was a prima donna that only cared about himself. You can guess how those worked out but it was still entertaining. Mac also got to get with Angela Bassett!

Great movie, fun, entertaining and really had a good message behind this comedy mixed with drama! I enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed watching this movie with my son!

Mr. 3000 is one of--if not--my all-time fav movies. I have seen almost all of Bernie's movies and have most of them in my DVD collection. But, Mr. 3000 is just simply the best!!! Honestly, I can watch the movie over and over and over again...In addition to Bernie being the world's greatest comedian, he is also an amazing actor. My favorite part in the entire movie is when Mo (Angela Bassett, who is also one of my fav actresses) visits Stan at his home...Marvin Gaye's "Lets Get It On" starts playing and Mo and Stan start dancing. The man is so talented!!! I'm not sure if many people know but Bernie could dance AND sing. And, what I like most about him--in the movie and off screen--is that he is "real"...and ol' school. "They" don't make them like Bernie anymore. He was one of the "coolest" cats I've ever seen (celebrity or otherwise)!!! In the movie, I like the fact that Mr. 3000 changed his selfish ways and learned from the mistakes that he made when he was younger. Obviously, I loved the way that the movie ended...Angela and Bernie were so beautiful together!!! It has been seven months since Bernie passed away. I still miss the MAC-MAN oh so much!!!

not the most hilarious comedy but amusing for an afternoon

For Bernic Mac fans. Great to see the big guy on film again. Buy it.
