This works. That simple. It works.
This is a very simple tool to use, but it did have a learning curve (or I just wasn’t paying attention), so read directions thoroughly! I had been dealing with an itchy ear for about a month, which turned into a tiny, but annoying pain. I ordered this because I didn’t want to go to the doctor only to have them tell me that there was nothing there. Enter, this amazing little device! After charging and downloading the app, it was ready to go. I scoped in gently, and there it was, a hair! I tried some gentle ear washes to dislodge the hair, but no go. Drat. You can see that the hair is resting on my ear drum. I did not want to risk injury to my ear drum, so was able to take the photos to my primary doc (who could NOT see the hair with HIS scope), and he referred me to an ear nose and throat doc to remove the hair. My primary doctor was honestly amazed and asked me twice “Now how did you get these photos? I’ve never seen anything like these from a patient.” I know that I was amazed, so to have my own doctor impressed ... it’s a thing! Some notes:1. Turning on this unit requires that you hold the power button for a number of seconds. I missed that bit of info and just kept clicking away thinking it was broken. Hold down for a few seconds and the green light will come on followed a few seconds later by the blue wireless indicator light. Clicking further changes the light brightness. Turning off also requires a long hold on the power button. (Make sure that your device is connected to the DEPSTECH wireless signal which will show up in your wireless control settings as its own signal.)2. Focusing the camera is achieved by pulling back or moving forward until the image becomes clear. But ...3. You have to give the camera tip a gentle swab with alcohol after each use or ear wax and oils WILL harden and cloud the camera and you will get fuzzy images.4. The scoops provided are not soft and I would not recommend using them far into the ear canal. The tissue there is very fragile and will become irritated even if you use light pressure. (I might be speaking from experience here 🙄.)Final word? Pretty spiffy little unit for the price. Nothing more expensive could have done a better job. It is a delicate instrument, so won’t take a lot of abuse, but with care ~ what a deal. Nice!

On your phone choose wifi not bluetooth
My phone Samsung Galaxy A51 was new to me and I went to settings selected Connections (wifi, bluetooth, Airplane mode and data usage) From there I was trying to get a charged camera to add to blue tooth WRONG..make sure your charge device is added to WiFi then you can go and add the app and you will be able to use the camera. My one ear was clear but the other will need ENT appt as my MD and myself with the WaxBGone (used oil, baking soda, debrox, peroxide as on cleaner box) and could not get the horrible clunk of dark wax to move. Initially I got two Hearing Aids years ago at Costco and they said my ears needed cleaning but they don't do that..lol I got some great hearing aids for 2,250, digital etc. So now I need to go back and see if my hearing aids are correct when my wax is finally cleared. PEOPLE WILL LIE TO YOU ABT YOUR EARWAX..just like I saw clearly my regular MD left a huge chunk of wax in one ear. I did contact the camera company via email and she was very helpful to help me see bluetooth is not right it has to be on wifi..the images were excellent..very helpful. I would buy again very pleased

Pretty darn good!
This showed up super fast, which was nice, and it charged quickly, and I was able to get busy cleaning my ears out almost right away.I'll spare you all the details, but sufficed to say, this works well. I cleaned a few months' worth of wax out, and my hearing is sharper than it has been in a while.I have a Google Pixel 4a, and the camera connected with it right away without issuesMy only gripes are that the clear spoon bit seems like it could break fairly easily, and word around here says they don't sell individual replacements, which is a bummer. Thankfully I was a DJ before the pandemic, so I'll just have to apply an extra light touch when using thisMy only other complaint is that the movement orientation of the camera appears to be reversed on the x-y axis, which makes some basic hand maneuvers a little complicated. I'm sure I'll get the hang of it eventually, but it would be nice if the camera moved in the same direction as my handBut hey, for the price, and for the return of my high frequency hearing, I can deal with a couple minor inconveniencew

Great diagnostic assistance tool when unable to visit doctor
The Depstech otoscope worked well for me to capture some photos of my ears at home to share with my doctor for remote diagnosis. Depstech has an app to download and install on iPhone/android phone. The otoscope creates its own wifi network and you connect your phone to its wifi network for communication. Because of this, your phone will be disconnected from your usual wifi network while using the otoscope. The end does get warm due to the LEDs but with the rubber tip over the metal end, the temperature was fine for me. After use, I pulled the rubber sleeve off and cleaned it and the otoscope end with 70% isopropyl alcohol wipes.I did not try using the ear wax scooper attachments on myself. I think they might work better on a second person where you'd have a better sense of moving the device left/right/up/down.TIP: since I needed both hands to pull up on my ear + maneuver the otoscope, I made a video recording using the Depstech app. Then after, I played back/paused the video on the pictures I wanted and made screen captures. This is the second Depstech item I have purchased. A few years ago I bought their wireless endoscope (no, not for medical use). It is very useful for home improvement/electrical wiring projects when unable to see inside a wall cavity directly.
