Not made from the best material
Very easy to dent. Quite soft material since it is made to be hammered on.

Soft metal and bends when used.
The metal is too soft and bent the first time I used it. After one use it’s full of pits and dings

Soft metal
Works great but seems to ding very easy . Soft metal I assumed it was going to be more durable!

NOT accurate weight.
The anvil we purchased is not 99lbs as advertised. It only weighs 94.4lbs, on a scale that is exactly 1lb heavy (so the anvil only weighs 93.4lbs). See photos of the 25lb dumbell, weighing 26lbs on our scale, and the anvil weighing 94.4.If you are not concerned about getting exactly what you pay for, (metal IS expensive, and to be shorted about 5lbs of it is a rip off), then I suppose this is okay for the most part. There are a few uneaten parts (seam of the horn, and back kine of the flat top part), but I doubt that will be an issue.Purchased for my husband who is just starting metalworking/smithing. Decent for a beginner.

It's so so
A bit soft and lacks good spring and tone. For what I use it for, it will do just fine. But I can't recommend this as a primary anvil, just too soft.
