Kalex1499519 XL2 Low Profile RH Bait Casting Fishing Reel

The reel does feel light and cheap, however the specs are really great on this reel. I own alot of baitcasting reels for fresh and saltwater. I bought 2 of this specific reels, because you can't beat the normal price. Using it for Bass Fishing, I've already pulled out 2 without any problems. If your looking for a bait casting reel without spending alot of money. I would highly recommend it. Of course the reel is no comparison to the Lew's or Diawa bait casting brands I own.

The reel came in a nice box and it worked ok during a tournament. Smooth and easy to use with little backslash and Its light weight which is good but also bad because it felt really cheap and would break. Its not a bad reel but not a great reel either. It would be a good choice for someone who is fishing a baitcast reel for the first time.

Bought the reel for $12 about a month ago and absolutely love it! Came in nice packaging is surprising smooth and cast great, it’s held up great haven’t noticed any wear. I’d definitely recommend picking one up if your looking for cheap reel to beat up on and have some fun I’ll be picking some more up! 👍

Haven't had a chance to use it yet.But, I do have high expectations.Seems well put together.

Won't cast more than 5'. Even with zero side tension the spool won't spin freely. Rough winding, seems like gears or bearings are not meshing correctly or simply poor quality. Save yourself the headache and buy something better.

Seems like a great little reel. I couldn’t get it to stop rats nesting and my buddies were making fun of me for it. So I gave it to them to try and not a single one of them could get a good cast out of it either. Could just be a bad setup on my part but we all tried several times and it just doesn’t seem to work right.

I have all the series of the Kalex baitcast reels and love them all. This one in particular is one of my favorites and one of the first I purchased. The colors on it are pretty cool. Excellent casting, smooth drag. Catches more fish than my Kast king reel!

So far GREAT reel. Strung 10lb test and have used several different lures. Remember when changing lures to make the necessary reel adjustments to prevent/limit backlashing. Very smooth operation and quick retrieve.
