I didn't really know what to expect from this book. My 8 year old told me that he desperately desired to own it, and I indulged him. We have a number of big coffee table style Lego books and I as expecting it to be similar - I was wrong! This is not an oversized book, it is on the smaller side. It has a number of historically significant events with nicely done little Lego illustration spreads next to them. My son is quite engrossed in reading the history AND soaking in the gorgeous pictures, and I call that a win. Very enjoyable little book.

I bought this for a present for a young boy and my 9 year old wants one as well, so I will be getting another. I absolutely love the fact that it is History based and will use it for our lessons. Beautifully appealing Lego assembly layouts depicting historical events. I have been known to buy two copies of books such as these to tear one apart and place in frames on the wall..may do it to this book as well (I always keep a pristine copy also!) LOVE IT!!!

This book is beautifully illustrated and my son LOVES it. It encourages a love for books and history, so I am VERY happy! My only complaint is that the stories could have been written in a way that is easier to understand for kiddos; maybe they could have been tied together in a clearer manner...? A timeline would also have been helpful.

This is a hard cover and a nice book, but it is tiny...lol. it is only about a 6×6 square...I was expecting a large book which would have been more impressive as it is a gift.

My kids like Legos and they like this book (ages 8-11). We are studying the medieval period and the book is a nice change of pace that coincides with our studies. We read the Canterbury Tales and one of my kids was happy to report that he did some reading on Geoffrey Chaucer in this Lego book. It's fun to see the kids make those connections, even if it is a Lego book. Kids who are younger than 8 yrs. and/or not studying the time period may not be as thrilled as we have been.

My kids LOVE this book! The Lego theme keeps my boys engaged while I read them the history lessons. I want more books like this!

Just what we were looking for. The interest in the history of this time period has jumped exponentially since introducing LEGO to the idea of it! The pages detail brief histories of important battles and such. This generates their curiosity to engage in further research and create projects of their own!

Un libro divertido, educativo y con el trasfondo de Lego. Muy recomendable. Si te gustan la historia y Lego, no lo dudes.

An excellent book to introduce children to British medieval history. However, the language can be a little taxing at times especially with names spelt in the original welsh or rare words such as schiltrom. It could also do with a few more full page or even double page illustrations to take advantage of the superb lego dioramas. The price is reasonable given the work that has gone into this lovely little book that, even given the small minuses, I heartily recommend.

Eisner Rezension der Süddeutschen gefolgt, habe ich das Buch gekauft. Ein Jugendlicher hätte dieses Buch geschrieben und die Szenen mit Lego nachgebaut. Als ich das Buch in den Händen hielt wurde schnell klar, das Greyson Beights kein Jugendlicher mehr ist, ein gesamtes Team die Szenen nachgebaut hat und die Texte von Historikern geschrieben wurden.Trotz allem finde ich es eine sehr nette Idee und das Buch ist toll.
