WizKids D&D Icons of The Realms: Spell Effects: Halaster's Tumultuous Templates | Minis

Got these spell templates for my 5e games and they're so cute! Can't wait to pull them out during a session. My bards and druid are constantly casting things like Hypnotic Pattern or Moonbeam so these templates are perfect for my games. If you get these, make sure you unpackage Moonbeam and Web! I almost threw them out by accident because they blend in with the plastic lol. My only two minor cons are 1) Spirit Guardians (Fiendish) comes in four pieces and the flames kind of hurt my hands when I pressed the pieces together, so I wore cactus gloves to put them together lol. And 2) the names of the spells aren't on the templates anywhere, but I just used black and silver sharpies to label them for ease of use. As a DM I have enough to remember while running games; I wanted an easy way to grab the right template without thinking too hard about it. Would definitely recommend these for the cost!

The plastic has an unpleasant odor. Good product overall.

It’s exactly what I ordered so I’m happy with it. However, I dropped the web spell template and it broke on a carpet floor. Super glue fixed it no problem but these things can’t take very much abuse.

Very helpful in marking and signifying spell effects

I generally like things by Wizkids, but these spell templates missed the mark badly. They warp and they break, and for this price they don't justify the cost.Each one appears as a single piece of plastic but are actually shaped strands clipped together. That's not a problem in itself, but I almost wish they were sold in pieces you put together, becauss maybe that would prevent the issues with this product.First, they're horribly hard to store, by being whole pieces, there's few mini containers that can contain them. I resorted to a lofty totebag for mine, dedicated just for these that I hug up near the DND table, but not everyone has that space.Second, most people will likely travel with these and here's where I ran into my next issue. Bringing them to a friend's house, they quickly warped from the heat in the car, making circles into ovals and squares into trapezoids. You can fix this with boiling water, but should you need to for $50?Finally, after moving to a new home, the majority of them shattered, breaking at seems and sometimes not at seems. All I have left are these three misshaped things I have no where to put.For half the price you can get 2d templates that look great, and there's plenty of cheap options on the 3d printing market if you feel you need 3d effects.Would not buy again.

The bottom panel was missing from several of the segments. This does not render the props unusable but is not a complete product. First error like this I've seen with a Wizkids product.
