Michael Watson's Story: The Biggest Fight

Fantastic book. I remember the night Michael was injured. To read about what he went through and to emerge as such an inspirational figure was amazing. Good read about a great man. Definitely worth buying.

This is the second copy of this book i've purchased, I mislaid the original while doing a clearout. This is a brillant read for everyone, not just for boxing fans. Detailing his childhood and his rise from prospect to a champion, during what was a celebrated period for british boxing - the years of the classic encounters between himself, Nigel Benn and Chris Eubank. As a teenager then, these were the fights that got me interested into boxing.Then from the highs of a succcessful career to the lows, as the tragic events of his second encounter with Eubank are then covered in extensive detail. How the injuries he received, ended his career and nearly left him on the brink of premature death.It may seem depressing but as you continue to read you sense the spirit and will he had during his career - which made him a champion - was what brought him back from the brink, recover to certain degree from serious injury and become the man he is today. A well respected man within his community and the boxing world. One of the most notable recent achievements covered in this book was his completion of the London Marathon in 2003 - regardless of the disabilities he now has.It inspiring book to read about a man who triumphed against adversity, and keeps overcoming any hurdles that life may put in front of him. inspiring to us mere mortals.

Great book. Halfway through reading it. I remember Michael Watson from my childhood days and it's thanks to Jason Vale (the Juice Master) that I decided to purchase this book.It gives real insight into such an amazing man.
