The suction cups don’t work!
The pumps works great! As long as there is sun it works like a champ! The only problem with the fountain is that the suction cups won’t stay stuck to the bottom of the bowl. It’s a real problem for me because I have to put rocks on top of the fountain to weigh the pump down to keep it under the water. The pump doesn’t have an automatic shut off when the water level is low and the moving water flow eventually makes the rocks slide off. The instructions state that if the pump is running without enough water it will tear the pump up. That means that I have to check it regularly to make sure the rocks are still in place so that the pump is under water. If it wasn’t for that I’d give the fountain five stars because the pump really wants to work all the time. It’s a hard working pump! Oh, it also comes with several spray heads, which are very nice. You have the option of different looks as to how you want your spray. They spray pretty high, like I say the pump really wants to work! I can’t use any of them, because they spray the water out of my bowl. My bowl is shallow and not that wide, so I prefer to use the fountain without the spray heads and it works great that way. The water shoots up, but stays in my bowl....I also get to hear the bubbly sounds the water makes as the pump is working, that’s nice too!in the pics you can see the pretty spray, how I have to pile rocks on it, and how the rocks fall off. Can be a pain! If your birdbath bowl is bigger than mine or if you are wanting a fountain for a pool or pond, the spray heads would work great for you....it would look really nice! I hope this review was helpful!

Works fine but only in full sunlight
It was easy to set up and works fine for my birdbath fountain. That said, I was specifically looking for one with a storage battery so that it could continue working in cloudy weather and a little into the evening. This one does say it has a battery but it actually requires constant sun to function. I have given this to a friend with a sunnier yard and it is working fine there, and I replaced it with one from Lewisia.

Great in the sun.
It works on my existing fountain. Battery backup is really bad. As soon as collector sees some shade, pump slows to tickle, then off within 15 minutes. With direct sun it works great. Don't plan on this running after dusk. My solar lights with a collector 1/4 this size, runs lights for 8 hours. This draws more power, but I expected at least an hour or two. Needs a better battery.

Sending it back
Did not like this at all. If anything cast a shadow it quits working. The pump stops up very easily causing it to quit working. I’m sending it back.

There is no battery it wont run unless in FULL sun
When the panel is in FULL sun, works great. No sun, cloud, partial shade won't run. There is a cord, so you can try to get the panel into sun, but as the day goes on, and sun shifts (and along with it shade) it stops working. Bought it because I thought there was a battery backup. Trying now to find an extension cord to run the panel up to our roof. If someone has found the extension cord please let me know.

so far, so good
Easy set up, feels well made, worked right away. Does stop if its overcast. Also gets clogged easily but was simple to clean (just swiped my finger across the filter to get the gunk).using this with a large deep urn as a small fountain/water feature. It works really well although if you have a bird bath I wouldn't recommend as the spray heads shoot really high and my urn was almost emptied of water within a few hours. I'm actually using it without one of the spray heads and now its just a cute bubble of water which is fine.

Best solar pump we've bought; tries to run even in shade
We have had several solar pumps for our small water fountain and this is by far the best one. Although other reviewers have said it does not run whenever a cloud passes by, that has not been the case for us. We have the solar panel facing straight up on a post my husband made (see the picture). As soon as the sun starts to come over the horizon, the pump starts to work. It gets stronger the higher the sun goes up. Even when the sun is no longer shining on the solar panel, it still tries to gurgle out some water. It has a good steady stream when in sunlight. We are very happy with it. I wouy have included a video, but the solar panel is in full shade right now and the pump/fountain is gurgling instead of flowing.

Excited!!
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. I may be preemptively excited, but after my hummingbirds finally started showing interest in my fountain I wanted to run it longer than the time I was sitting outside. I ended up getting a different one that didn’t work as well, but as soon as I plugged this one in it started right up and has enough power!!! Panel Is just laying flat in a very sunny spot, we’ll see how it works with the morning sun but so far so good!
