One of my most treasured books in all my collection, as it is relatively expensive to buy a copy. Starts with information on native British hardwoods & their uses, then standard kit you might need for greenwood working, plans for a pole lathe followed by projects on stools, spindle chairs and windsor chairs. This book is one to invest in for windsor projects and pole lathe projects, however if the price is too much Mike's later & more widely available therefore affordable books are sufficient for great spindle chair projects and contain more detail of seat weaving if that is more what your looking for.

green woodwork
Saw a TV programme hosted by Monty Don which featured revival of old crafts. The author judged finished greenwood products and got me thinking. The book was done in the '80's and I rthought it was out of print, by good old Amazon sourced it for me within a week. It really is a tre3at to read. Obviously you can't become an expert overnight but the step-by-step descriptions and accompanying photographs are superb. I should have got it years ago when I was young enough to do something about it - careerwise! Excellent book.
