The book is a priceless catalog of pure beauty. As true couture is replaced by corporate couture, the sense of loss is profound. We need more designers who truly understand the potential of fashion as an art form, and who are in touch with the spirit of women. In this book you will see page after page of the most beautiful dresses imaginable. Valentino isn't the only designer who tapped into the potential of the female form, but he is one of the very best.

If you buy only one book on fashion, and only one book Valentino, and only one coffee table book and one really expensive Assouline volume. Make it this one. Magical perfection is all I can say. It's not about anything other than the visual communication of the designers narrative plus the lovely tribute to the hands in the ateliers who create this magic. In a word - superb.
