Half novelty, half functional
My son got this for xmas. He loves the Panthers & did not have a checker set - only a plastic one. He loves this set however...There are not enough helmets for all the pieces in the event that they are all kinged. That leaves you to use the old fashioned way to stack the pieces to make it king but contrary to the way they look, they actually don't hook together - the grooves are too short. Also the helmets only sometimes click in to the pieces for linking purposes. The stickers don't stay on.Other than that, the board is good quality.I would only buy again if I had another NFL fan.
