Yes it can but mine went wrong within 12 months.

Q: What's the IP rating of this?

Apologies, a typo in my answer earlier. It is IPX4 rated which is fine for a bathroom providing it is fitted in Zone 2 or 3. I use it to control an electric towel rail. It is a very accurate and responsive thermostat but setting daily times can be a little complicated.
