It’s a basic arbor extension for hole saws.
Lenox 5-1/2” extension (30846)The tool holding end has Allen screws, 5/32”, to secure a large arbor with. They recess when the tool is secure in the holder. It will hold a 7/16” drive end weather it’s a quick lock style or the same size as a 7/16” Allen wrench. If the tool is smaller than a 7/16” Allen then it will not center it with the shaft. There is some noticeable runout so it would be best for a rough hole or one that is already started and you need to drill deeper than a drill will get you.The tool holder is 15/16” O.D. 2” long and 1-3/32” deep. The shaft is 4-5/8” long and is a 6 side like a 7/16” AllenThe drive end fits inside a 7/16” Quick lock Chuck and locks securely or 1/2”Jacobs Chuck or keyless chuck.Hope this helps with the vague product description provided and answers your questions.

Good Product
Good for this size, and temporarily holding a smaller size extension.

Got through about an inch and a half of hardwood ...
Got through about an inch and a half of hardwood, but had to keep stopping to crank down the allen screws. Eventually the off-center nature of the centering screws caused a wobble that led to a somewhat violent bending of the extension but that's why we wear safety glasses. ok quality, but definitely don't expect success for anything other than soft wood.

Great When You Need it
Works well. Needed to feed a holesaw through a deep hole.

Tough extension
The extension was strong enough but does not take a 1/2 inch shaft drill bit. I had to grind the bit to a 7/16 hex. it did work well enough then.

Really heavy duty
These are really heavy duty, built to last, I can't image it bending or breaking the only surprise was it didn't come with an allen key to tighten the set screws, the 1st extender I ever purchased that didn't was not a big deal I had lots anyway buy anyone buying should be aware

BEWARE** Do Not Assume this with accept 1/2" shank Forstner bores
This is a solid extension BUT for only specific arbors as described. The wording "Drill Extension and 1/2" Shank" lead a buyer to think it will fit and extend boring bits. WRONG!!! The hex socket is smaller than 1/2" and won't fit larger Forstner boring bits. Lenox could have done better to remove 2mil from the socket to accommodate a greater range of bits.
