This is an excellent tool to work with. Well thought out, high quality components, easy to set up, easy to use and accurate.

I was a bit concerned when purchasing this item because of the price but I ordered it anyway because I had been happy with the Hinge Mate Mortising Template for which this is an accessory. I had tried one of the inexpensive templates that you can purchase at your home center but it could not be stabilized adequately and even after drilling the hole for the lock and the hole for the latch, there was still the matter of chiseling out the latch mortise. I spent two hours on one door and still had a bad result. This item was great. After marking where I needed the latch to be and clamping this on, it was an easy three step process to drill the latch hole, drill the pilot hole for the lock and rout the latch plate mortise. After removing the template, a quick use of the provided hole saw through the pilot hole and you're done. I finished 15 doors in 5 hours using this product. Would recommend to anyone needing to set locks in a large number of doors. The one down side to this product: it does not appear that this item could be used to mortise the strike plate in the door frame but I didn't need that feature.

This door jig is fantastic. I set it once and did 4 doors in no time.
