Roxanne's Thimbles have an open face design, which allows for excess moisture evaporation and prevents oil build-up. Ergonomically designed for less stress on finger joints and is shaped like the human finger to like a glove. Quilters with long finger nails can finally quilt without sacrificing their stitch! The computer designed dimples are placed high and low, so that anyone can make use of them, and are exactly the right depth to control the needle without using the thumb. Roxette Size S

Left Hand Index Finger Thimble for me.
I have small-ish hands and this small thimble is great for my index finger on my left hand (non-dominant hand). This thimble keeps my fingertip from sweating, and therefore this is by far the best thimble option for me.The thimbles do seem to run small. My daughter has large hands and the xl fits her index finger. My husband can't get the xl to go on his fingers.(My yellow (size medium) thimble is the only one that's flaking off the paint--so far. The colored paint seems to be like gel, and therefore helps to keep the thimble in place on the finger.)Also, if you have trouble with sizing, as I did, you can got to the Colonial Needle website and send the nice people there an email. They are super friendly! Please see pics for the chart they sent me.

A bit bigger than listed in size chart
Going off the posted size chart another buyer posted in their review I thought that the small would fit me but it turns out I must have infant sized fingers because it is still too big for me, the measured diameter is closer to 13.5-14mm than 12.5-13mm. I will have to eventually try buying the XS to see if it will fit me but for now I've sewn a few layers of fabric to line the inside of the thimble and got it to fit for now.The material, shape, and style of this thimble is great though. Very comfortable to wear, thick, and durable.

great working thimble for the price
this little joy did everything i expected it to i Used its way more expensive big sister the roxanne for years but age and arthritis caused me to need a larger size. I was not really able to spend the money on a new roxanne so decided to give this a try. Yes the needle tends to make the paint chip off but honestly i was not buying it for how pretty it was i needed a WORKING thimble this does the job very well is comfy and easy to work with and a nice lower cost alternative to one of the best thimble designs i have ever used for hand quilting.

Best thimble
These thimbles are just the best all around. They fit snug enough not to slide off when sewing and the multiple sizes make it easy to find a fit. I keep one in medium and one in small in my sewing kit for any days when my fingers might swell a little. Well worth the cost.

I bought this because I had read that thimbles help ...
I bought this because I had read that thimbles help in making small stitches in hand quilting. I had to buy 2 to get one that fit. There is no guidance about sizing. The first one was too large. I have used this thimble for about 20 hours of hand quilting. I am able to make smaller stitches with it than with ordinary thimbles. However, the color is flaking off wherever the needle hits so it is looking worn already. Also after it is worn for a while the thimble seems to turn on my finger. If I buy another one this pricey for a little piece of aluminum, I will get a genuine Roxanne or one from Thimblelady.

My favorite thimble
Been using the Roxette for several years now, and purchased this as an extra to keep in my second handwork bag. While thimbles are a personal preference, I prefer these, and would encourage anyone who hand sews to try them.

Sizes are inconsistent.
Love this product, but be aware that this size small was a tad larger than my size medium I purchased from the same company. I'm not sure why the size wasn't correct unless they are now being made by a different product supplier?
