Books I've read by other animal communicators (classics such as Conversations with Animals, and, Learning Their Language) tend to include a lot of anecdotes from the author's pet readings for clients, which is great. With Dr. Gubbins unique quest and questions, she takes the field to a new level, intertwining the strengths of science with a spiritual focus to really get a rich understanding of the consciousness of different species, including many wild animals. With characteristic warmth and humor, Cara starts by sharing some of her journey to becoming an animal intuitive. Then the heart of the book is the ten middle chapters, each devoted to a different animal species, including a vivid telepathic encounter with a member of that species, relayed in a remarkably down-to-earth manner. These interactions engagingly demonstrate some of the unique dimensions of animal's inner lives, and how their idiosyncratic yet expansive awareness goes far beyond current conventional expectations. I purchased a paperback copy of this book to be able to better share it with others-- and I'm thrilled to have this means of sharing greater understanding of the richly interconnected consciousness of life.

Good read. Very informative. Gubbins writes with a sensitivity and compassion that obviously matches her own personality and soul searching. I liked the hypothesis of the book: that animals are spiritual beings with their own spiritual lessons and gifts. The animal interviews and their messages for humans is thought provoking. I also appreciated her presentation of all aspects of the various animals from biology to literature, history, mythology, art and religion.

Loved this book!!! The author Cara is so authentic in her personal story which moved me. She had the same roller coaster ride that many of us do, and she brings this to a beautiful light. I highly recommend to those who wrestle in their personal journey. I also enjoyed reading all the messages the animals bring to us. I think this should be on everyone's list to read!

I congratulate Dr. Gubbins on her courage, her conviction, and her willingness to go out on a limb. In a world where science and spiritualism regard each other with disdain, she's chosen instead to find a fertile middle ground where both can benefit each other. And while her portrayals of various animals are intriguing and insightful, it is ultimately Gubbins herself who best typifies the title.

I love what Dr Cara Gubbins is doing and sharing for all to be awakened to a beautiful world that is just a belief away. She writes in a very readable conversational style where I felt myself being inspired through the pages. This was my second read, and I suspect because I drank it all in the first time very quickly as I was enjoying it so much, I plumbed further depths of understanding even causing my own emotional shift within the first few pages i.e. enlightening insights and (good) tears! Dr Gubbins is a perfect example of having a foot in two often assumed opposing camps, science and spirituality, which she brings together through very real, personal and conscious experiences validated by both worlds. I have also had the true pleasure of meeting her personally when I found her to be incredibly peaceful and compassionate.

This book is an inspiration. I have always known in my heart that animals are not our subordinates, but our equals in their value. The author's life and her realizations have touched me.
