Derwent Water Soluble Graphitone Mixed Media, Pack, 8 Count (0700662)

I use this to do an under drawing when I paint with watercolor. It dissolves really well when I apply watercolor over it. Making it a much better solution than regular graphite for an under drawing. Only issue is that if you are painting something very light colored, the color will be darkened by the graphite.

These are great pencils. They were packed in a bubble envelope. Noticed when removed from the envelope that the blister pack they were in was bent and torn at the top corner . (the cut was mine)and the two graphitone pencils when removed from the pack werebroken. The wood encased pencils seem to be ok. These pencils are expensive and care should be taken that they will arrive intact. I would have given more stars except for this.

NOT water soluble at all!! Horrible graphite blocks. Waste of money BUT I am so used to trusting anything sent by Amazon that I immediately threw away the packaging before I ended up with graphite smears all over my fingers and palms! Tried to retrieve the packaging from the trash but was too late. Certainly learned a lesson here!!! DO NOT BUY THESE!!! AGAIN: waste of money!!

Gave these as a gift, my husband loved them. Very easy to use for beginners/novice artist. Pencils make clear/clean lines, they don't smear easily, and the eraser that comes with it works great.

Excellent for producing pre-painting sketches. The graphite all but disappears.

I am going to use for my art instruction.

Didn't activate easily. Because of this have decided not to get the colored Graphitint pencils.

They are not as smooth as they should be, they lay down very grainy. Id say getting the generals brand charcoal is a better idea then getting these. Also the sharpener sucks.

Package is not safe. I like the pencils however there are cheaper sets with same price.

These are just the job for my sketching, especially as I seem to go through pencils like no-one's business! Nice, thank you.

La marca Derwent è una costante in questo studio di grafica.Questo piccolo kit è molto comodo, di quelli da ricomprare quando finisce.Le tre matite sketching (di tre gradazioni diverse) in grafite si differenziano da quelle normali per il diametro superiore della mina: si temperano ottimamente (qui usiamo la lametta e non il temperino in dotazione, di cui pertanto non conosciamo la qualità), la gomma è molto efficace e comoda perché piccolina e sta dappertutto (ne "seminiamo" una per ogni scatola in modo da trovare sempre una gomma quando serve, cosa mai scontata), la matita interamente di mina acquerellabile graphitone 3b funziona che è una favola sia così che polverizzata con la carta vetrata e acquerellata, il blocchetto di grafite "soft" funziona ottimamente, un po' troppo duro per quanto ci riguarda quello "medium", ma è soggettivo.Unica pecca: se si volesse regalarlo, a noi è arrivato con la plastica trasparente tutta sporca di polvere di grafite: non è colpa né di Amazon né del trasporto, bensì sembra essere un problema alla base, della fabbrica.Se fosse stato un regalo, avremmo dovuto toglierlo dal blister e regalarlo dentro a una scatoletta, previo una (brevissima e facile) pulizia con uno strappo di carta da cucina.

This pack contains 4 Derwent Graphic pencils: H, HB, 2B, 4B, 2 watersoluble graphitone pencils: 6B, 8B and 1 regular eraser.The watersoluble graphitone pencils are novel, quite dark and very soft, if somewhat brittle, but provide a good introduction for using watercolour pencils.The eraser is very good.The (Derwent) hard grades H and HB are actually better than the corresponding Staedtler ones.The (Derwent) soft grades 2B and 4B are not bad, but the corresponding Staedtler or Faber Castell pencils are much smoother and nicer to work with.Overall, it's a nice set for beginners, who just want to get used to drawing with pencils.

Paid 800 rs for 4 pencils and got an old open pack with with broken charcoal pencils. The charcoal pencil, especially the white one had lost its quality. Shame on the seller to dispose off such rotten stock on poor buyers.
