Update: 5/2/2022I have now used this device for a few months. Still working. The Smart Life app was updated several times since. It is now much more reliable. Suggestion when driving up to the garage: start the app; wait for about 10 seconds before using the app (give time for the internet connection to be established).Even though it is not 100%, it works so well that I am increasing my rating from 4 to 5 stars. Another use: our Toyota Highlander's built in garage door opener has such a weak signal that on some days it only works if the car is inches from the garage door. Using AgsHome Smart Door Opener Remote, I can open the garage from a reasonable distance without any problem. Only problem is fumbling around to get the phone out, open the app, establish the connection, etc. You know. Phone stuff.Buy this product. It is easy to install. It works. It is very convenient and helpful.Original review:My garage's third keypad is already failing. I don't think that keypads like Minnesota winters. I also need another remote. I saw this product. Not only is it less money than a replacement keypad, but with this device I can give permissions for all of our family to have access to our door.Installation was simple. The only thing that I did different was to replace the magnet used as part of the closed door detection with a very strong cabinet magnet. Since the edge of the door is metalic, I was able to mount the magnet on our door without needing to drill any extra holes.The opener works well. As this is connected through our homes network, and that is connected to Internet, I can open the door from a distance greater than what works with the garage's own remote controls.I appreciate that the app notifies me whenever the door is opened or closed.That said, once you open the remote app, it does not always work immediately. If you try repeatidly to open the door, you may actually be triggering multiple events: the door may open and close several times. My simple solution is to wait for 10-15 seconds after I open the app to the garage door opener page. Then I trigger the door. Works fine.I have a ton of devices in our home that I control through Alexa. Although Alexa has detected the tool and the opener has the ability to be intergrated, I did not see the use so I do not have Alexa controling the garage.I have been using the AGSHOME Smart Garage Door Opener for a bit over a month. So far so good. Have already recommended to others.

The media could not be loaded.  Just installed this morning. Took maybe 20 minutes. Had a little trouble with WiFi setup, but nothing starting over didn't fix. Note, the door sensor doesn't have to be flat facing each other. Mine are perpendicular and work just fine. Main bonus is the Google compatibility. Which makes it Android Auto compatable. I just have to press my steering wheel button and ask to open garage door, it asks for my pin, I responded....Viola!! Plan to add it to my Alexa routine that shuts off all my lights and sets the thermostat to away when I leave every morning.

It was easy to install and download the app.

The first 20 minutes I did not see any kind of light on the device so I am not sure if I got a defective one. I tried changing the AC adapter and kept pressing the on/off button but that was not it. Suddenly I saw a red light and it was around the time I changed my phone to a 2.4GHz frecuency wifi but I doubt that is related. After the light came on I was able to set up the device's wifi pretty easily and I has not given me any trouble since. After installing it on my garage, I was notified the wifi signal is weak. It is near the wifi access point so I am not sure why I am getting this. But it works!I get notifications on the phone when the door opens and closes. I configured it with Google Home so I can ask google "is my garage door open?" and I get a nice reply. I can also open an shut the door with "OK Google" which is very useful.As far as I know, there is no way for the Smart Life app to notify you if some time has passed by and the door is still open. So I used MacroDroid to set up a timer of when the notifications come in the phone. doorOpen notifications turns the timer on and doorShut resets timer to 0 . If the timer has been on for 5 minutes I created an alarm and an action to send myself an email automatically. This is because I have been known to leave the garage door open when I leave home and honestly I don't always ask Google if my door is open so this reminds me fairly quickly to shut the door.Overall this product is a complete solution because it comes with a door sensor and it is very simple to install. It is an unsuspecting way to secure my home in many ways. It also provides the convenience of opening my door from far away to someone I trust.

The AGSHOME Smart Garage Door Opener works as it was designed to. The passcode PIN functionality is a must and they have implemented it well with this device. I would say that the provided hardware that comes in the box includes everything you need to install the opener in most case scenarios. My garage door opener is 20 years old and it worked perfectly. What a great price for the functionality the AGSHOME opener provides. I would recommend downloading online documentation and guides as they are much more detailed than the book that comes in the box. If you are a Google Home/Assistant user make sure and create the passcode PIN in the Smart Life App before you try to use it, as it will ask you for the PIN at that time. The whole system is very well thought out!

I connected the wires to the wall controller connections on my Genie Power life 900. When I plugged the smart controller in there was no longer any power on the Genie. The control card was shot. I had to order a replacement card from Genie at over $100. Once I got the new card installed and the Genie had power and would operate the door I noticed that the wall controller for the Genie was not doing anything. The led was on but it would not open or close the door or the light. So I assume that this was blown also. I order the Genie Aladdin controller and sent this back.The instruction on this were horrible I had to find a tutorial in youtube of some one installing theirs. Its not clear how to connect the wires and what one goes to which connection.
