The 16th and My BEST Cancer book!
Incredible book on cancer! Best I have seen, and it is the 16th cancer book in my library. It even seems more valuable than CANCER-FREE by Bill Henderson, that we used to "solve" my wife's Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma, when we bought his 2nd edition, about 8.5 years ago. I have a health club here in The Villages, Florida, and have made 4 cancer presentations based on CANCER-FREE, and other information I have acquired. Had the opportunity to have dinner with Bill and his wife, and discuss health issues. I bought about 88 books from Bill directly (discounted, by-the- case) and passed them on to my members also discounted. Wonderful win-win situation! Great opportunity for clubs. He might still be selling books by the case. But now has his own battle with cancer and might not want to be bothered until he beats it. Bill Henderson is a real jewel. We just celebrated my wife's 10 year anniversary, since Mayo Clinic first diagnosed her cancer, and she appears completely cancer free. Plays 2 hours of tennis on Monday mornings, and 36 or more holes of golf, on championship courses, every week. Absolutely no symptoms what so ever. During these last 8.5 years since meeting Bill, and using his book, we used the Budwig Diet (3.5 tablespoons of flax oil), Transfer Point Beta Glucan (2.5 caps/day), Catalyn (3 per day, from Standard Process), and improved her diet (no ice cream, and more veggies primarily). Tried Essiac Tea for the first few weeks, but the taste was bad enough she would not continue it. I still make the Budwig Diet for lunch almost every day, for both of us. She has cut back to about 2 tablespoons of Flax Oil the last 6 months and I still use 3 tablespoons of FO. I have no cancer problems, but have found it has solved my rosacea and dry skin problems. It's also my "cheap" insurance against cancer, and is a great meal substitute. We have evolved to adding a frozen triple berry blend (from Sam's), orange juice, and stevia (Now Foods Better Stevia), after thoroughly mixing the FO and CC. This is the only recipe that we have been able to enjoy for a long period of time - over 3 years now. I actually look forward to lunch. Now time to review OUTSMART YOUR CANCER, 2nd Ed. I wished I had bought it when I first bought Cancer-Free, over 8 years ago. Tanya Pierce, like Bill, has taken a difficult topic, and done an excellent job for us lay people. Tanya defines jargon as she goes, and makes complex topics very clear. With 506 pages in OUTSMART vs 375 in CANCER-FREE, she has a lot more welcome details, that adds clarity and is much more interesting. At times, it was hard to put the book down. For example, her discussion on the Budwig Diet ("Flaxseed Oil and Cottage Cheese" page 207) added some very fascinating details on Dr. Budwig's problems as she developed her protocol. Like her boss wanting to bribe her into not publishing her findings, that would interfere with his financial interests. She said no, had to leave her position, and no one else would hire her, since her boss had blackballed her. But, then she was able to spend a lot more time with patients, and there are over 1000 documented cases where she cured serious cancer cases. And she gives better details on how it works. Very well done! I have multiple books covering Budwig, and hers is by far the best! But, best of all, she covers several treatments that I had not seen, or at least not in enough detail to make them sound effective and worth pursuing. Like: Protocel, 714X, Hoxsey, Cesium High pH Therapy and others. Anyone of these might have been able to save a friend, dying of Stage IV lung cancer recently. If only I had bought this book out 3 months earlier, I truly believe that either the Protocel or Cesium approach would have worked for him. She includes additional contact information at the end of each chapter, that includes other sources, phone numbers and website information, and likely costs involved. I've followed some of them, and they have been useful aslo. Bottom line: I would give it 6 or 7 stars if possible. If you have cancer, or are trying to help someone who does, this is the best single book that I would recommend. She does a good job of showing that there really are practical, effective, and non-toxic solutions available, and includes testimonials, both in the book and in her included audio CD. CANCER-FREE does a better job of providing valuable to help understand the "cancer establishment." Things like issues the patient will encounter with doctors, medical institutions, and even from well-meaning family and friends, and he makes an excellent suggestion of securing an advocate to help make decisions. If the budget allows buying both books, that would be the best of all worlds. If only one, I would go with Outsmart. I will try to respond to comments.John Richards, President, Achieve Better Health Club, The Villages, Florida.Update: 7-14-16 Just received a very sad email a couple of days ago. Bill Henderson died on July 4th. Not from his Non-Hodgkins's Lymphoma, but from cardiovascular issues. He was making progress with the NHL using natural protocols. For details: [...]. I will miss Bill a lot. I have a lasting memory of helping a friend, Barbara (breast cancer) discuss her problem with Bill, from my kitchen table, as he coached her. We spent about 45 minutes. His caring and patience almost oozed thru the phone. Great guy who helped so many people. His wife, Terry, is going to continue his work. I will update this when I find out more. As I recall, she is a retired nurse, and could do a bang up job.I highly recommend Ty Bollinger's: "The Truth About Cancer" website: [...]. He is very informative and proactive in fighting cancer, and probably the most active current crusader.

Empowerment through knowledge in the journey of cancer. Valuable, Book,
When first diagnosed with cancer It was like riding a roller coaster in a whirlwind. The book Out Smart Your Cancer, (be sure to order the Third Edition) is an Empowering and Valuable Book written in laymen terms! It saved us a lot of time and costly mistakes by helping with questions we don't even know we need to seek answers for. It helped us slow down, to grow in understanding of the Cancer Process before making decisions. We thank our friend for recommending this book, especially the Protocel and question areas. It helped to understand what to talk to our doctors about. Helping to communicate with them better before making decisions. Through the knowledge learned we also gained mental strength, power and understanding over emotional feelings. This is the best of all the books I read in our cancer journey.I do not have enough words of gratitude for the knowledge the author of this book helped us gain. We became good stewards of time with the doctors, comfort to ask questions and not feel overwhelmed. It helped us have peace in our planning decisions for treatment. It helped us do more of our own research.L. Martens, 2-21-2024

Non-toxic anti-cancer therapies that actually work, diligently researched and professionally presented: invaluable!
If I could give the book six stars, or even ten, I would do so without hesitation. Outsmart Your Cancer is an invaluable resource, diligently researched, and professionally presented with great integrity. Tanya Harter Pierce clearly knows what she is talking about. She avoids confusing the reader, yet writes without dumbing down essential scientific explanations. She presents sufficiently detailed factual evidence of each therapy discussed, as well as reliable anecdotal evidence for those who (as I do) find considerable help and comfort from credible personal testimonies. She also provides references for further personal research, and contact information for providers and suppliers of the non-standard anti-cancer therapies discussed in the book (from whom she does NOT receive any compensation, N.B.).I happened to be given my first copy by a friend, not because of cancer in the family but because of IBD (Irritable Bowel Disease) - certain symptoms of which can also be helped by one of the major therapies described in the book - Protocel*. However, I have passed extra copies of this book on to others, including, most recently, a friend whose young child has aggressive Leukemia.Amongst several highly-effective non-standard anti-cancer therapies discussed in 'Outsmart Your Cancer', Protocel (again) seemed to be the one which most impressed the author. Her opinion was recently confirmed to me, when, seeking further help for my friend and his child, I stumbled across an outstanding testimony on the Internet, by a courageous Registered Nurse documenting her journey to complete recovery from cancer. Her story is a deliberately detailed and thorough (though entertaining too!) journal, and well-worth the read. I have taken the liberty of inserting a couple of cut/pastes from it (see links below to the full story) which may provide guidance and hope for anyone reading this review who is also feeling confused and afraid."This website is a compilation of my weekly diary entries that start with day one...when I was full of cancer, and continue through the end of the year of having no cancer. I'm not an herbal hippy, non-conformist or even a circus side show...I'm a wife, mother, daughter, sister, nurse and friend who could see that the mainstream conventional approach to cancer would be the end of me. I had faith in an alternative path and, at the same time, found journaling my experiences to be cleansing and therapeutic. This website allows my testimony to be available to anyone who chooses to read it and honors my own personal commitment to God to share my story. I am blessed to have lived this miracle and I believe miracles deserve to be shared.""...a local physician suggested to my husband that I should investigate alternative and other non-chemo options for my now stage 4 cancer and showed us the Protocel pages from the book "Out Smart Your Cancer" by Tanya Harter Pierce. This book, as well as other valuable resources, guided and supported me as I chose the path less traveled.""I'm in a Constant State of Gratitude 6-10-2012. Today I am reporting that the nodule to my left mid back has all but disappeared. And it's not just about the shrinking of all my palpable tumors. Since I've been on Protocel 23 I have no pain and I'm not bombarded with 27 different medications daily. (...) I have not caught a cold or been sick at all...and my scars from my port insertion and oophorectomy are so faded they are almost nonexistent. Isn't that amazing? The antioxidant properties of Protocel are keeping me in a bubble...healthy and energized."http://www.beatingcancerwithoutbreakingasweat.com/about.htmhttp://www.beatingcancerwithoutbreakingasweat.com/diary.htm(*For those interested, this is a brilliant product called Protocel, which can help not only with cancer, but also with IBD, due to its capacity to aid the body in ridding itself of scar tissue (a major problem in the guts of IBD sufferers). In addition to its immune-boosting properties, it also helps the body produce myelin - a product vital in the repair of damaged nerve sheathing - a potential side-effect of certain of the antibiotics necessary to combat the infection(s) which commonly accompany (and in some cases cause) IBD.)

This lists a good selection of alternative
This book should be in everybody's home. We all know someone or will know of someone or be that someone who will develop a cancer in their lifetime. This lists a good selection of alternative, non-toxic methods for treating cancer other than chemo or radiation. Most of the methods were developed Stateside, but just reading that there are alternatives, ranging from ones used last century and over 50 years ago, as an historical reference even, ought to make us think and be aware we do have choices when it comes to our health and how we handle it.

Excellent - the top of the line
The best, most detailed book of its kind that I have read.Anyone who has undergone conventional treatment for cancer will have understood that chemotherapy (injecting toxins directly into the blood stream in an attempt to poison the cancer) and radiation (an attempt to burn the cancer) are incredibly crude, imprecise methods that destroy good tissue with the bad, with no certainty of success. Only conventional surgery, where possible, has a record of some success. The future of cancer therapy therefore has to be something different. This book describes 19 alternative therapies that have given results. One thing that strikes a reader coming to this field for the first time is the novelty and intellectual finesse that define some of these therapies. Many of these practitioners cannot be dismissed as "quacks". They are brilliant biological scientists and researchers. Rather, it is the chemo oncologists, with their blind adherence to protocol and their "one size fits everyone" culture, who can be more correctly described as "quacks".If you or a person close to you is struggling with cancer, this is a "must read" book.

this book is awesome
I really enjoyed this book, when it was first suggested to me, I thought "OH crap, another self help thing", but I have a lot of respect for the person who suggested it, so I read it anyway. It was awesome, demystifying some of the alternative cancer approaches, and offering alternatives to surgery, radiation and chemo. Also, some suggestions for prevention. It took some of the fear of cancer away.
