Quality product & worth the cost
My dad & I purchased a 028S stihl chainsaw in October of 1985. This saw was super. It gave me many years of service. About 8 years ago it just stopped working. December of 2022 I took it to our best local small engine repair shop to see what was wrong with it. The returned it to me & told me it was a top engine Seize & not worth repair. My heart was a little bit broken over the matter. I really wanted to get the old saw working again. It meant a lot to me. My dad had passed away & this saw was a very special part of my teen years with my dad. I didn't let the bad news keep me down long. I started Googling piston & ring kits for this saw. It took me a couple of weeks to figure out exactly what I needed. I made the decision & placed my order. I was so excited when it came in. I was fortunate we had a rainy weekend & I laid my plans to rebuild my old saw. It took about 2½ hours. I didn't quite know how to or where to start but I just started with the cover & went from there. I had watched a YouTube video on the rebuild but they tore down the whole saw down so I just focused on the cyclender. To remove the cyclender there is a special torx wrench that usually comes with you saw at the time of purchase & believe it or not I still had mine. After reassembling I put fresh gas in the saw & it started on the 4th pull. I was so excited! I have since rebuilt a Husqvarna. I was able to do it in about 1 hour. I would suggest taking the cyclender off first to make sure it not something more than just the rings & piston. On both saws it was the rings. I used a hose clamp as a ring compressor during reassembling.

File the holes to get the head bolts in then it worked great brought an old stihl 028 back to life

it fit right on had no trouble at all saw fired up after 3 pulls on rope i havent got a chance to go to timber with it yet good price also

Good kit
Everything that you need for a top end rebuild for a Stihl 028. The kit was easy to install provided that you have a little mechanical aptitude. My old Stihl 028 Wood Boss runs like new again and for a lot less than the factory parts.I’m pleased with the quality and value. Would definitely recommend.I didn’t rate the longevity of the kit but only because I’ve only cut about 4-5 cords of wood with it so far.

Lucky they are there..... for all who need's them.
There isn't much I can say about it for the time being. Just practically installed it so, also about "longevity" there is nothing that I can say about it. Sorry. I'm trusting the quality although so called "aftermarket" parts but nevertheless, one needs to have faith. If not, you should not purchase them. And if you did after all, well I guess you know, as I do, why, don't you?.
