SealsTropical Tour Kayak Cockpit Sprayskirt

I've given it a good test. It's OK.
This is my second one. I toured about 3,400 miles this year. The first one lasted about 1,900 miles before it came apart near the grab loop. I am not disappointed about the wear out. I probably peel the front third of my skirt open from the cockpit 30 or more times during a paddling day. My kayak has no day hatch, I open the skirt it to get snacks, increase or decrease clothing and to relieve myself. That is a lot of cycles and is hard on the grab loop area where I start the peel. I wonder if SealLine couldn't make a skirt with a U shaped waterproof zipper for folks like me? Then I bought this one. I guess the design is not that bad since I bought another. My two main gripes are:1. The rear part of the skirt always rolls up in a pig tail. When I am fastening the skirt to my cockpit combing, getting it engaged with my coaming at the rear, reaching behind me with both hands and doing it by feel, unrolling the pig tail makes it more of a pain. 2. I've never been able to get the rib to work. Tightening the strap usually had no effect and might cause it to flip down. Hardly ever did that rib work well. I think it needs a redesign. I wonder if a fixed curved rib wouldn't be a lot better? If you want to stay cool in the tropics you are much better off with the yellow color. Black, gray and dark colors absorb much more solar radiation than yellow. White would be the best to stay cool. I like the mesh pocket. That was great for sunscreen.

great for keeping water out of kayak
I took this to FL to go sea kayaking in the Golf of Mexico. It kept the water out. I wasn't sure about size. I am a XXL t-shirt and it fit snug at first but over time it stretched to my shape.

Good solid skirt
Good solid skirt, stays put when I'm rolling my kayak. Fits my Perception Conduit 13 very well, better than the Harmony skirt that I had before. The sewn-in bridge keeps water from pooling in your lap as you paddle or roll which I like very much better than the previous skirt I was using as well. The only thing I don't like is that the tunnel is a bit tight around my belly, but that's a problem I could fix on my own.

Good warm weather skirt
This spray skirt is great for touring. It keeps the water out. I don't have any problems with water puddling on it. It is easy to put on after you fit it to your kayak. I like to use it in the summer or on warm days. It doesn't make me as hot as when I use the neoprene. (The neoprene is good for cold days)

Fits my perception Carolina great. I have not rolled in it yet but I think it is the best you will get for a large cockpit like mine.

Great skirt. It's tough to get on when you're sitting in your kayak. But, I suppose that's a good thing. This will not leak.Exceptional for the price. I did buy a new one...same design, butwith a zipper for easier enter/exit.
