solid shoe, beware foam longevity
Having tried this on in the store I knew what I was getting upon my Amazon order. Was originally going to buy in store, but for over 50% off through Amazon, couldn't pass that up.It is much lighter than the Asics Nimbus that I previously reviewed. This works well for distance training as all the weight matters. Only concern is that the longevity is not as good as the Nimbus in terms of raw foam durability, only got about 300-400 miles out of them. Saucony is using the EXACT same foam technology that Adidas puts in their BOOST branded shoes at this point. Return rate is fantastic, longevity is lacking, but they do deliver a stellar fit and feel of just gliding along on the pavement.I highly advise against using these on trails as the foam used will get beat up very quickly! Overall, great show, especially for the price paid!

I'm 6' tall and weigh 198 lbs. I run approximately 100 miles per month. For runs longer than a 5k I need to have a shoe that provides ample cushioning for my specs and the Ride 9 is a great shoe for that. This is a significant upgrade over the Ride 8. I felt the outsole for the 8 was lackluster and flat and just sort of slapped the ground with each stride. The 9's outsole is much more responsive and feels like it could be suited for your uptempo runs too. Fit is just right but for me, they work best with a thinner pair of socks versus a thicker more cushiony pair. You can adjust the lacing easily to get just the right fit and they don't feel like a heavier, workhorse pair of shoes. Great job Saucony.

Great shoes
This is my fourth pair of the Ride series from Saucony. They have all fit great. These do seem to be taking a little longer to break in than my other pairs I have had. I am not a runner but I do use them on the treadmill at the gym 3-4 times a week and they are very comfortable. Saucony are the only shoes I have had that feel like you have had them for 6 months right out of the box. The only thing I have found is that I that I get them in about a full size larger than other shoes. I will keep buying this series in the future and they are $30-50 cheaper on Amazon if you watch the price.

An acquired taste
Hmmm... hard to write about these shoes. I originally boguht them by the end of august as my go-to shoe to run the Chicago Marathon. I wanted to break them in for about a month or so before the race so they were completely adapted to my feet by October.I started using them and my left foot suffered. Although the cushioning is SUPERB (like running on clouds) the upper produced friction with the top of my left foot and it was really uncomfortable after the 10K mark so the plan to use this shoes during Chicago 2016 were postponed. In the end I used my Saucony Triumph ISO shoes, which was a mistake but that's another story. It is only now, after about 100 miles on the Ride 9's that I have been able to find comfort in them. I guess the upper stretched a bit ot something but there is no longer the initial discomfort I had with them. Now they feel great upper-wise.The shoe feels a little narrow but the cushioning, responsiveness and weight of this shoe make it a good deal for them. We'll see what happens with them as the mileage increases.

Great Saucony shoe, Amazon and RUNNINGDOG did a go job to make my full refund easy for the defective product
The Saucony shoe selector program worked great. Limited miles in the last 15 years, ran in Saucony lots of mikes before the job and family reduced my miles. These are great!!! No leg pain or soreness from the shoes.. never used an 8mm before, find that it provides for a good kinematic and stride. Lightweight yet provide confidence on 5 mile trail runs on Saturday and Sunday's, stable motion control and support.Update, after 5 months the sole delaminated from the right an left shoe. Seems to be specific to the red colored tread, several other posting with the same failure. Amazon and RUNNINGDOG made a full refund, but I had to pay the return shipping.

Great shoe for overpronator like myself.
I have a normal to high arc and I was getting shin splints in my asics gel noosa. I actually bought the asics for the treadmill because I helped to open a new orange theory fitness. Well I eventually realized that OTF wasn't for me so I run on the road again and the asics just weren't cutting it. I was in pain just walking in them. I usually wear saucony but I just couldn't find the right pair that resembled the way the shadow genesis felt to me. Those were my favorite pair of saucony I have ever owned. And I think these are as close as I'll get to them. First run in them and no shin splints at all!Haven't even broke em in yet and I love them already. Good arch support and perfect fit. I'm extremely happy with these!

If Shoes Could Talk: Tread Blabs All!
Do you see how white my shoes still are?!? That should indicate to you the care and newness of my shoes. The short... this is a repeat purchase. I got this once in a different color and now again seen here. I've worn them maybe 10 times?!? Ive gotten maybe 10-15 miles and the tread is just coming off. Since Its all connected, you lose the WHOLE track unless you cut it. What the damn hell?!?This defeats the purpose for me. These shoes are great with impact, creating a neutral run, and longevity... until now. The last pair of orange run pops I owned, I got well over 125 miles out of them before losing any part of the tread or feeling any imbalances.Whatever they changed... go back. If I could get a refund, I would. I got them, but didnt wear them right away because of weather and the other pair of these shoes I have in a different color. Even those don't have this issue.Such a waste...
