I want to clear one thing up here, these ARE blackout curtains, really good ones at that. But if you get a light color, they will not have the same room darkening effect. I see too many reviews of people on here who got the white ones or a lighter color expecting them to black out their room. Unless they are lined with some sort of vinyl, (they're not) the lighter colors WILL NOT have the desired effect. There's even a picture on the listing that shows the level of darkness you will get based on the color you order. Pay attention to that.So anyway, I ordered the darkest gray blackout curtains, basically one step under the solid black. I live in Colorado where the sun shines brighter because of the higher altitude. I have a wide east facing window on one end of my bedroom and a wide west facing window on the other side of my bedroom. I basically have zero respite from the blinding sun all day in my room (covid quarantine for a year now). These curtains have been a godsend. I had to order 3 packages of two panels each. I put 3 panels on each window, like I said, wide windows. There's a tiny amount of referred glow from the top of the curtain rods during the day but for the most part, it's like midnight in my room all day unless I were to open the curtains and melt like a vampire. These also help keep the heat in and the cold out...Colorado weather. I love them, my roommate wanted me to order some for his room for the same reason so now we basically hibernate all day. Recommend! But remember to get the darker colors if you want this effect, the lighter colors won't make your room as dark.

Love color. Thick enough material so no wrinkles. And best of all they keep the heat in during winter & heat out in summer. The thermal component of the material really works. We have various sizes on all our windows & the sliding glass doors to deck. Has made a difference to our utility bills & looks great.

These are very nice room darkening curtains.Blackout Effect: You should know they are NOT blackout curtains but they work very well to darken the room. I don't think they are advertised as blackout curtains but I know some people might imagine something different when reading "darkening curtains". For instance, if you are a nightshift worker wanting to sleep in the daytime, I wouldn't recommend these, these let in too much light. However if you want to your little one to be able to nap in a dark, cool room then these are perfect!Temperature: The insulating properties were immediately noticeable. The room temperature has definitely dropped by a good 2-3 degrees (which doesn't sound like a lot but can take you from just slightly too warm to the perfect temp for sleep).The color is very nice and very accurate from description/picture and the fabric is soft. No smell out of the package that I could notice.Nice product.

They are definitely blackout The only thing I don't like is the fabric. It's more like a shower curtain than a regular curtain.

Absolutely loved my purchase! I wanted complete darkness in my bedroom and these curtains do just that! It can be high noon and no sunlight is peeking in. Mind you that my windows face east, so I get that glorious sunrise, but I do not want it in my room. My room is now darker than dark, love it. These curtains will have you wondering what time of day or night it is, no light shining in your room with these curtains.

Finally found curtains that do what they are supposed to do, which is block out the light and help cool off the bedroom. When it's 115 outside for a whole week, you need all the help you can get to help with the electric bills. We bought the dark gray and just love it. I don't think you should expect anything made out of material that is packaged to arrive wrinkle-free. This material is easy to steam so there is no problem. So glad we bought these.

Bought these to try and match a much more expensive set from Kirklands. They were totally worth it! 1/3 of the price and you can barely tell the difference. They block a ton of light and are a beautiful dark indigo color. They are slightly cheaper-feeling than the expensive ones and a little less heavy. I can't give more stars because they actually measure closer to 82 inches, but I think they're still worth the money! I'd buy them again (keeping in mind the length).
