These are different. Tested on AstroBrights Cardstock - Eclipse Black (not sponsored). Why these are interesting, but I like them: initially, when writing with the darker colors, they didn't show up right away, but then they gradually lightened up. Kind of like a surprise. Fun to watch. All the pens write smoothly, so that's a plus. Nice addition for my Black paper journals :)

The shades of gray are nice. I have to use a slip of paper to "prime" them if I have hesitated for half a minute in my drawing. Not a smooth pen, but they are ball points so I have to use them on very smooth drawing paper. The caps are not much indication of color density, so I wrapped a small piece of white tape around each pen and marked them with the ink. I will save these for using black paper and buy a different set of grays for most of my sketches.Addendum: Was contacted by the seller about the issues and offered a refund so I am adjusting the review score. Excellent customer service!

I bought these gel pens to write in my Starry Night STM bujo and they are perfect. Iprefer writing with ball points and journaling with marker pens but these gel pens are LOVELY! They write smoothly and do not smear at all. I have only had them a few weeks so I can’t speak to how long they will last but right now I highly recommend them.

The colors of a couple of the pens is so similar to another pen it's like getting 3 different shades of gray. But they write nicely and gray pens aren't that easy to come by. They work nicely for writing a message in a sympathy card.

I am an acrylic paint artist. I prefer acrylic over oil, mostly because of the price and also because you can use other mediums with acrylic paint quite nicely. I especially like using these pens with my paintings to bring a crisp line to some objects. These high quality Gel pens did great for accentuating the straight lines of a bridge in a recent painting. I also used these pens to accentuate stitching on people's clothing in paintings. For instance the seams in jeans or or the seams of a jacket. They can be helpful in certain areas where you are trying to get a small accent on hair, lips or eyes. You can also smear this medium if you do it very quickly. I used that technique for rain in a painting. I will buy these again.

I got these lighter colors to do leatherwork cuz I use dark colors of leather most of the time. They're great when they work properly but it sucks when I have a job all set up and my hands in a position I can't really move and I have to find a piece of paper to prime the pen. Regular ballpoints I can do a little scribble on the back of my hand to get it moving but these won't do that. So, yes I really like them when they work. I can still see the mark even after I cover it with glue.
