I would not recommend this tripod. It is very difficult to setup and maintain composition given how The controls on this tripod work. For instance, once I've composed my shot and go to lock in the ballhead, the ballhead tends to move, thus changing the composition of the shot. Secondly the ballhead easily comes unscrewed from the tripod legs. Lastly, one of the legs fell out of the pressure fit mounting after just 3 months of use. When it comes to tripods, buy it nice or buy it twice, or thrice... Anyways, lesson learned.

Tad heavy but nonetheless perfect for the field. Rugged and steady which is what you need when landscape shooting with low ASA & HD filters, for example. VERY steady in positioning for tricky Macro shots in amongst the clutter of the forest floor. Easily set to eye level and still not wobbly. Ball Head also very nice for off-angle shots set up on rocks or other uneven surfaces. Love that you can invert the center rod for tricky macro shots in the field. The price is you have to tote it in & out but that's expected. Comes with a light tote bag that you could sling over your shoulder unless you're already packing a photo backpack like most do. So hand carry. Now I use the tote to hold tripod and water bottle since I've no room in the backpack! Happy customer.

This tripod is a beefy sucker! It's not terribly lightweight, but if you are using it outdoors or on uneven surfaces, it's amazingly steady. Easy to use, and built well enough to last for years and years, I'll likely not need to replace it even after decades of use. In fact my son who turned me on to this tripod, has been using his for 12 years now. No complaints at all. Highly recommend!

I’ve been doing photography for the last 7 years, and I’ve never owned a good, sturdy tripod before and this one is just that. It’s an absolute beast. I’ve always worried about my camera with my previous tripods because they were so flimsy and didn’t seem like they could properly hold the weight of my DSLR, but now I don’t have to worry anymore.

The best tripod I have used, and I have used the "expensive" ones. you will love the circular quick release... never miss a shot because you can't get the camera mount in the right position again.. this one fits in any direction....Yes it is heavier than a "travel" tripod...if you want a travel pod...then buy one... this tripod is very sturdy and I use it for portraits, or shoots I am not hiking miles.. if I am not getting on a plane.. this is the tripod I will always use.

This tripod is built like a Sherman tank. It is very sturdy and rigid. I realize it weighs more than a carbon fibre model but that's OK with me. The money I save is well worth the extra weight. The ball head turns very smoothly in any direction. The tension knob allows me to determine how much force is required to move the ball head. The panning feature is nice also and super smooth. I bought this tripod at the recommendation of a highly skilled photographer friend. I didn't go wrong.

Wish I bought that before I bought all the other tripods in the past. Its very sturdy and feels very secure. I bought the ' used one/ like new' , and like it says, it's ' ' like new'. .
